Go for 11+, Coyote is great

Yeah, it's gotta be a Coyote. I thought those started in 2010.

A C5 Corvette at least has a rear transaxle for perfect 50/50 weight distribution.

Looked at the cars build sheet just now- it has sport package which includes sport seats and a sport wheel or something like that. Whatever they were, felt good to me

Well it's a sport line and may have a lower level sports seat - but that is most definitely not the sports steering wheel.  The F30 generation is really sensative to package selection which can decide the car just being OK and the car being really fun.

But I'd feel bad about driving a Corvette in the snow and stuff.

But it's a better car and cheaper than a 2011+ Mustang. Plus fiberglass and aluminim don't rust. And popup headlights.

I'm not sure it's better. For a track toy, probably. But for a DD idk

This! Plus way less clearance!

I think I finally figured out what my winter beater should be. A 2010-2015 Mustang GT. Ford's are shitboxes, so I won't care about parking it on the street or driving it in the snow. But they're still fun and cool enough to satisfy that need.

I don't understand feeling bad about driving a 20 year old Chevy in the snow, but a 7 year old Ford is already enough of a shitbox.

A C5? It's not like they're a particularly rare or special car.

Won't the fiberglass crack in freezing weather?

What do they make snow mobiles out of? Oh yeah, fiberglass. Yeah, it can crack, but Mustangs can rust.

Yeah but it's a Ford so it deserves to rust.

I feel like Mustang + winter = bad idea. The G was OK in the snow on DWS06s but I wouldn't have called it snow friendly.

Taco suddenly needs a FL wheel bearing.  Sounds crunchy as frig.  Hub assembly is $80 on Rock Auto. Might as well do both...?

My dad rocked the Grand Marquis for a handful of years year-round.  Blizzaks and a couple hunnid pounds of sandbags...he managed just fine except in the worst of the worst.

Yeah, but the Panther cars are heavy and run much narrower wheels and tires than a Mustang.  About half the horsepower, too.

Indeed. I miss that car. Such a comfy cruiser...seeing a clean one is getting quite rare around here.

You're supposed to let the throttle pedal off the floorboard once in a while.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

My one worry with a Mustang is that I'm pitching it to my wife as a shared car (we could trade off every week or something), but idk if she'll like it. She likes sitting more upright, so she'd have to get used to the big long hood, sitting lower, and having less visibility compared to a Civic/Mazda6/etc.

Every day my coworkers find new ways to impress me with their bad driving.

This time a guy changed lanes into the oncoming lane of a median-divided section of street, and tried entering the property through the (separated) exit lane. There weren't any cars coming but WTF WAS HE DOING? I beeped the horn in alarm and he stopped in the middle of what he was doing, then backed out for thirty seconds to get back into the correct lane.

Also, about a third of the cars have student driver stickers on them. Some of them have a *lot* of such stickers. I saw a minivan with one on each side, and two on the back. What kind of shitty driving are they apologizing for in advance...?

Maybe we should have some driving tests that determine if you're allowed to drive a car yourself or should be forced to use autopilot.

Once she gets a taste of Ford allure, she may never let you drive it.
