Time for a new car, sadly, they all kinda suck.

In concept, yes, but they ruined the looks and I will only buy 1-2 years old.

I wonder how feasible it would be to pull out a factory infotainment system and put in the Apple unit. I imagine it wouldn't be cheap, but it might let you buy a car you otherwise would rule out.

Payman

My '13 Focus does not have the dreaded TouchMyFord infotainment system (that's on the Titanium model), but I have full iPod connectivity.

GoCougs

Alpine and Pioneer both have CarPlay head units now available, which I've thought about. I've never used them - have only seen videos. My strong hunch is depending on install some factory functionality will be lost such as steering wheel controls and backup camera (which I need). Plus, I don't think I've ever seen an aftermarket HU install that didn't look good - at a minimum they look out of place, and many are a bit of a hack job, even if done professionally. Plus, there would be warranty issues too, tearing up the dash and wiring (a big deal if in the chance I do go with ze German marque).

SVT666

The one and only thing I don't like about the Mazda 3 is that stupid infotainment screen that looks like someone glued a Nexus 7 to the top of the dash.  I have manufacturer's infotainment systems. Impossible to replace and they take your eyes off the road. They are the answer to a question nobody asked.

SVT666

If I was replacing my G with another entry lux car, I would go S4 or 328i.  Since I'm not and I'm replacing it with a car that actually drives just as well, has a better interior, a better transmission, and uses a fraction of the fuel while still being quick, I'm buying a Mazda 3 GT.

Payman

IMO, it gives the dash a much cleaner look, with controls placed for better access:

I really like the current trend. I think it looks upscale and frees up dashboard design, making them less bulky looking by trying to integrate an infotainment system.

I love the simple elegance of the Mazda2 dash. Should have been used in the new Miata.

Subtract the screen from the Miata, add a simple radio display sans the year 2000, and I love it...

This thread is a perfect example of how out of touch this forum is with REAL car people. It's like they took your mancard, gave you a tampon and renamed you Raza.

A Golf R? A S3? Are you guys on drugs? So choose between an ugly understeering FWD Economy car, or the equally shitty one with Audi Rings on it?

If my car were to blow up tomorrow, and I needed a new car to get to work - never would be on my list. Ever.

Rumor is it will shortly have M/T option.

I really like subtlety of the Zeta sedans (vs. something like the SRT-8 cars) but I need AWD.

Depending on price, that could be a good deal.

For 2015 it's getting manual, MRC, and brembo in the rear instead of just the front.  The manual also gets 3.70 rear gear instead of the autos 3.27.
