Well, probably not a good idea to wash that one out with a hose.

This thread is useless without a burnout. Disappointed you didn't post a vid in the first post. If it makes it to page two without a burnout, you'll be banned.

Also, now when people ask what you drive, you have to just say, "a Hyundai".

Can't see pics (assuming the site is blocked due to work filter), but assuming it is a Hyundai Genesis?

based on that assumption I have one question: Why is this thread in the Luxury section? Shouldn't this be in the Jalopies section or, at best, the Mainstream section?  :hmm:

My cousin has a Kia Optima - the most recent model.  They have really stepped their game up over the past decade.  I'm sure the Genesis is that much better, too.

Couldn't you find a base 3er or something?

Sure this thing maybe be nice looking, fast, comfortable with a bit of luxury but it's no base 3 series.

Also, I see in the chat thread you guys totally misread what I was saying about the deal.  They didn't fire a guy over it, and I ended up getting it for the deal I went down for.

$32,500 for the car (MSRP $48k+), $14,500 on trade in on the Element.  I think it's a steal at those values.  I lost $1500 on the Element in  depreciation in 13 months.  Not too shabby.

Things that need to be fixed:

-Passenger side power lock sticks a lot of the time.
-Trunk doesn't recognize the keyless entry system to allow for it to pop open when I hit the button
-Missing the driver side floor mat
-Finally got the dealer decal off.  I gotta get the rest of the sticky residue off though.  Same with some stickers on the inside of the windows.
-Need to tint the windows
-Replace the Hyundai H badge with the Genesis wings on the trunk
-Maybe debadge the Genesis R-spec 5.0 L badging
-No burnout videos.  Traction / Stability control doesn't completely turn off unless you pull a fuse.  I might wire in a momentary switch to allow that from in the cabin.
-Might be doing a custom adaptive damper + air bag setup.

Removing the dealer sticker, I understand... I do it too. I don't understand why you would debadge it though. Shopping for a used car, if all the proper badges aren't there it sends off alarm bells, and usually means a replaced body panel.

Looks a lot cleaner.  The designer didn't intend for there to be chrome decals all over the thing.  The miata had three chrome badges within a two foot area.  It looked ridiculous.  BRZ lost the "Subaru" letters off the trunk.  Looks a lot better.

Well, then he can keep them and put them back on.

It'll look cleaner, and debadging a Hyundai amuses me because not one person in fifty will know what it is.

If he changed out the grill with something more generic, that would be 1 in a hundred.
