Long story short: Clay got me a solid discount because it's from the dealership that he works at. 2005 GX. I needed a 4WD vehicle and something relatively nice to carry people around in. I've always had a soft spot for this era (and before) Lexus.

Clay was nice enough to actually drive the thing out here (hence the desert photos, which he took and are pretty cool) and met me at my parents house where I am at the moment. So he was here for a little bit and I can confirm that he greatly impressed my parents with his car knowledge.

But yeah I'm pretty happy. It's SO damn comfortable and I love the way everything feels. It's in very good condition as well. A couple of things that I will change: 1) Gold emblems will go. 2) I am not a fan of chrome wheels and so those will go as well. 3) I want to tint the windows as dark as I can.

All in all though, I like it.

Nice car. Cant say its something I'd go for, but then again you know my taste is a bit off.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Nice car! Wheels look decent to me.

Thanks man!

I think it's the combination of the chrome wheels and the gold badges but yeah, they're decent and in person, they're not very glaring but they're still chrome.

The gold badges, however, really gotta go. Is that even a popular thing for people to do anymore? It seems like that was a 90s/early-mid 2000s fad.

The truth is I could have gone with other cars and been happy but for now, this fits the bill. It's a good mountain realtor car and I ended up spending significantly less than I would have had I bought a new Subaru for instance.

Around here, it still seems popular amongst certain ethnic groups.

It has more realtor panache than Subies and IMO the car's looks have aged well.

The car looks fantastic for being 10 years old.  How many miles on it?

A lot of Lexuses (I guess that's pleural for it) with that champagne/gold color have gold emblems and a gold grill.  I agree they would look better in silver.

They're basically Toyota Land Cruiser Prados, so they're actually supposed to be quite good off-road.

Yeah, I'm not complaining that theyre incapable. Dont get me wrong there; everything i know about them tells me theyre reliable and even tough vehicles.

Just not my style; quite nice, and a good choice for a real estate dude.

Cool car, I have always liked the GX. Shit, I'd still buy a GX460. How many miles?

Nice car, I've always liked that gen GX and it had aged very well. Doesn't look like a 10yr old car.

I'd keep the oem wheels, they look fine.

hotrodalex

Nice. I'd also keep everything as-is. Looks classy, good for real estate.

SVT666

Nice truck. Gold badges must go. They're super tacky.

How is the real estate thing going for you anyway?

Cookie Monster

Looks good Joe!

To be honest, the chrome wheels and gold badges kind of look fitting on that car, in that color.

It's got 92,000 miles on it. The gas mileage is horrific. The highest number was 17.2 MPG and the lowest was 14.2. That's over 1500 miles.

Needs big, matte black bumpers. Maybe a huge brush guard. Might even go diamondplate.

Did you notice that somebody left a bunch of stolen realty signs in the back seat?

Anyway, not bad for a grocery-getter. You just need a nagging wife and a couple carseats to finish it off!

That's not bad for such a giant SUV with a V8. My 150 hp 4Runner got 14.2 for its last tank.

92K ish as Clay says.

So it's a good amount of miles but it's in really great condition, which compensates for that.

I get about 14 MPG around town in my V6 Dodge Ram pick-em-up truck. Got about 16-17 MPG on highway trips (up the turnpike to tailgate).

It's going really good actually and I like living here; it's much different than San Diego, which is what I was looking for.

The truth is that I don't think I'll be living here long term and there are a couple reasons for that, but mainly because the whole mountain area seems to be regressing in terms of the economy, poverty, drugs etc. There are a disturbingly high number of store vacancies and many of the ones that are open are having "blowout" sales, 50-90% off posters in the windows. Since I've been here, probably five or so businesses have shutdown & keep in mind, this is a small town  so it's very noticeable.

But there are more high-end buyers pulling the trigger and the year has started out really good for us. Got around $8 million in escrow at the moment and it's still winter, which usually is the slower time of year. So there's kinda both situations but overall, I just don't know that it'd be a good thing for me to permanently stay here. I'll definitely be here for the upcoming two years but I've told myself at the end of 2016/start of 2017, I'll reconsider my situation....around the time Hillary will take office. ;)

But after Lake Arrowhead, Boston is where I'll most likely end up. I don't know how I'd swing it but somehow I made this work, so it's possible.

Nah that's nothing. Good to see it doesn't have nav. All interiors from that era with outdated nav screens look like total shit

Yeah, me too.

I can just use my iPhone & having a screen is distracting anyway.

The gas milage isn't that great but it's a tradeoff for the other things the Accord doesn't have, mainly 4WD and all that.

Maybe I could just get a moped for day-to-day situations that don't require bringing other people around.

Or bad idea? The hospital is just up the way a mile or so if I crash.
