No talk of the new RX?

Like all the new Nakamichi Akira Lexuses I like it. Gets my seal of approval though it might alienate the coach bag mom base

I like it and would totally encourage my mom to go for one if she wanted a crossover

I'd have thought it would make more sense to keep the RX relatively conservative and leave the NX as the small, sporty one -- the ES vs. IS vibe. But then again, in my opinion the 2003 RX was fairly boldly styled for its day and it did fine.

There's no talk of the RX here because this forum isn't comprised of middle-aged trophy wives.

Agreed, needs more wheelbase. Might have all that overhang to absorb the energy for crash tests tho.

I really love Lexus' interiors. There's no head on dash shot but thats irrelevant. Its a shame they don't make a car I would buy though.

I've said it before, if they made a 6MT IS350 F, I'd be so down. That's not to say the ZF 8AT isn't brilliant, I'd just like a manual in my DD.

Meh...the front overhang plus the LM2000 style wheel arches are off-putting.  It looks like a Toyota Venza (which it is based on, no?) with a lot of tacky styling cues.  It's going to age terribly.

Lexus got it 95% right with the new GS (save for the gaping mouth) but this looks terrible.

The GS looks really old.

I really love the new RX.

The front overhang is hilarious.

That's a great local brewery that we have. Do I drink their beer? No.

Front overhang looks par for course for a FWD CUV. It'll look fine in person.

So much better

and it will fit right in with all the other 4000 lbs "sport" options out there.

Look out mustang and camaro, automakers are looking to lower their suv's and bring the competition to you!!!!

Those are all 4cyl vehicles from a class below, and not at the same angle

SVT666

They're all taken from the same angle dude.

What class does that Lexus belong in anyway?

The blacked-out C-pillar reminds me of the new Maxima.

Welp, the prior RX was a rebadged Toyota Harrier, so there wasn't really anything to be done with styling. This new gen however is a standalone model, hence the departure in styling.

Actually, the last/outgoing generation is/was its own car.  First and second generation RXs ('99-'09) were rebadged Harriers.

The RX is the size of an Edge, not an Escape.

Maxima? They just flipped the c pillar of the Murano upside down.

Weird that two separate companies came up with the same design feature.

Absolutely hideous. Dreadful.

I don't mind the edgy design, but that front overhang and the lack of distance between the front doors and the front tires... damn!  :mask:

I don't think eveerything needs to have FR proportions to look good.

I'm digging the proportions of the RX because they're kinda awkward (not really)

Ye most MR sports cars have Pontiac Bonneville grade front overhang.

Unfortunately this thing aint no MR sports car (or Pontiac Bonneville)

I think if they lessened the visual heft of the nose it wouldn't be as bad. They are also going to have to tone down the detailing. This thing makes me appreciate the current gen... it's actually a pretty good looking CUV.
