My guess is 3,700 lbs, as the LT1 and less noise insulation/luxury stuff will take some poundage out from ATS-V curb weight.  However, to cut costs, more steel will be used, which I think would offset it.  We will find out on 16 May, which isn't too far away.

What's your guess?

3700 with the V8 sounds right. Current one is 3900 and is based on a 10 yr old cop car platform. Hopefully it looks more like a 67-68... I have seen a few of those locally, they are sweet. New Camaro is way off the mark by comparison

I think every trim level will be a near dead match for the Mustang.

Based on the ATS-V I'm gonna say the heaviest N/A version (i.e., V8 with MagneRide) will be ~3,650 lbs.

3600 for the turbo 4 up to 3800 for the SS.

The LT1 is significantly heavier than the LS3 weighing in at 465 lbs, no longer a light weight. Certainly this is heavier or at best the same as the LF4 in the ATS-V.

Coupled with cheaper steel parts to make it into the sub $40K pricing (vs the ats) and the need to greatly upgrade materials and refinement to match the 2015 mustang, it will be lucky to stay under 3850 lbs.

I figure just under 3000 lbs for the loaded V8, no doubt because of all the carbon and aluminum GM will pack into it. And everyone knows pushrod V8's are the size of a 4 cylinder and weight less than a 3 cylinder.

LT1 and LS3 weigh the same - same bore spacing (= same block LxW), same stroke (= same block H), same bore, same material (AL) - the added tech (DI, VVT, AFM) and improvements (valve config, larger valves, higher CR) have no net weight penalty.

The Alpha platform is notably smaller and lighter than the Zeta, so all else the same (motor weight, level of refinement, etc.) and the Alpha Camaro logically has to weigh less than the Zeta Camaro. There is no logical path by which it can't and that's forgetting about ten years of chassis/material/design developments since the Zeta platform debuted.

As I've said for some time the blueprint for Alpha Camaro weight is not surprisingly the Alpha-based ATS Coupe:

ATS:
2.0T coupe: 3,411 lbs
3.6 coupe: 3,530 lbs

True the ATS (sadly) does not have a V8 but given that there is a ~130 lb difference between the Zeta V6 and V8 Camaros, the Alpha Camaro V8 should weigh ~3,650 lbs. Even if it doesn't I'm not sure how it matters. As its bogey Ford used the current Camaro - a seven-year-old car with an eight-year-old motor riding on a ten-year-old chassis. The Alpha Camaro will be a full generation ahead of the new Mustang; smaller, lighter, more powerful, quicker and better handling.

Yea if the ATS 3.6 is 3530 lbs I can see the Camaro V6 being in the low 3400s. Which would put the V8 measurably under 3600lbs. Ooo thats kinda scary, Ford may have a problem. Especially if they use tricks (i.e. aluminum front suspension steel rear) to help the Cmro's weight balance.

On a side note the Genesis coupe is supposed to be getting a 3.8TT. We will see about all that tho

Also note the ATS 3.6 is A/T only so a manual Alpha Camaro V6 will probably weigh a bit less.

GM cut 300 pounds out of the Malibu so I hope they can shed some weight with this car too. But GM..........
