Tata is really trying to not make this a sales failure

They've added new features such as

- opening rear hatch

- 5 speed automatic trans option (AMT)

- power steering

- airbags

- streaming Bluetooth audio and phone

Still has a 4MT base engine and drum brakes on all four corners, though

Raza

Did the rear hatch not open before?  Can you even call it a hatch if it doesn't open?

Yes, it was sealed.

And I don't think it was ever referred to as a hatchback

Galaxy

Not that bad looking actually.

I also agree, but I also thought the original car was pretty cute.

Shame the LWB "Europa" version never came out

Drum brakes are fine for any car with less than 40 HP.

You gotta go before you worry about stopping.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

They were supposed to bring this to USA. Wtf.
Oh well, we got the Mirage, anyway.

What an epic POS. I can't imagine someone walking into a dealer and buying this (or a Mirage, or a Versa) but I'm sure some fool will.

... Nissan needs to use these shocks on the GT-R.  It would be like the Incredible Hulk wielding Thor's hammer.... unstoppable.

Why not?  A little taste of the Third World, but without the dysentery.

Some people spend $7000+ for a golf cart so they can tool around the neighborhood. They don't even play golf.
The Tata is street legal, but perhaps not golf course legal. Doesn't it make more sense for non-golfers?

I've never understood why anyone uses drum brakes anymore. They're more complex, have 5X the parts, and are nowhere as good as discs.

Drum brake shoes generally last longer than disc brake pads.

And most heavy-duty commercial rigs (tractor trailers, buses, etc) are still using drums.

Then it makes even less sense for manufacturers to put them on their cars. You don't make extra revenue on stuff that doesn't wear out.

The issue is the rear parking brake. You can either have a drum within the disc or add a parking brake mechanism to the calipers.

Why anybody would use front drums is beyond me, though. I guess it's more expensive to machine calipers than wheel cylinders.

Calipers are more expensive.  I believe that the required runout tolerances on discs are tighter than for drums as well.

Even my lawn tractor has a disc brake. It has a mechanical caliper that couldn't cost more than $0.83 to produce.

Agreed; but they must be cheaper. And for this car, theyre good enough.

Your Tacoma is probably going to kill you, I'm afraid.
