Run Away

I can't tell if those are solid axles or not....rear looks to be, but I'll be the front isn't.

Solid rear, IFS front.  From everything I've been hearing Toyota wants this vehicle to walk the walk so just maybe it'll be serious.

Secret Chimp

The TRD Tacoma has been among the best stock off-roaders for a bit, and I believe the FJ is on a Tacoma frame.
And honestly, expecting a solid front axle in this day and age is ridiculous. It's not going to happen any more, and you don't need SFAs to off-road decently.

That's a great local brewery that we have. Do I drink their beer? No.

I wasn't expecting one.

Yeah with maybe a touch of Hummer mixed in...

Car Zeus

that blue and white color is very ugly.

I do expect this thing to sell if they keep it rugged and the name holds up to tough off roading.

Raza

Never said it was pretty.  It is, though, pretty ugly.

I agree Zeus and I like blue, but this shade is too much.  I wouldn't mind silver with the white roof however.

I heard Toyota wasn't going to mass market this truck and was focusing on off-road/outdoor types.

Nissan has had good success marketing the Xterra to off-road oriented consumers while achieving mainstream sales success. The styling will also no doubt attract some buyers.

Why? I like the idea for a hardcore offroading vehicle, and in that case (and that alone) I can live with the interior being spartan, but the styling is horrible. Oh well, I guess the Aztek sold, and I doubt it was more useful.

You're my age.  We're getting old.  Plus, now that you're married, your life expectancy has gone way down, since you're more likely to be poisoned by your wife.

This is no Aztek, for almost all heavily-styled cars there will be enough buyers who consider it attractive.

I agree.  It looks better in other colors anyway.

Raza

Perhaps the fact that it will have limited appeal will be the appeal for some.
