Rezvani Beast

What do you get when you take an Ariel Atom and give it the styling of a Lamborghini?

THIS....

California-based boutique automaker Rezvani Motors has introduced the Beast, a convertible supercar based on the track-focused Ariel Atom 3.

There are very few visual connections between the Beast and the Ariel Atom 3 because Rezvani has tacked on a full body made out of carbon fiber. Interestingly, a handful of parts including the door mirrors and the light casings are made using 3D-printing techniques. A windshield is available as an extra-cost option, but the Beast does not appear to come with a top.

Inside, the Beast is fitted with seats crafted out of bare carbon fiber, a carbon fiber steering wheel that weighs just 300 grams and a digital instrument cluster. The infotainment system is compatible with Apple CarPlay.

Power for the Beast comes from a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that uses both a turbocharger and a supercharger to generate 500 horsepower. The four-banger spins the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, but a six-speed sequential gearbox controlled by shift paddles can be ordered at an extra cost.

In its fastest configuration, the 1,650-pound Beast can reach 60 mph from a stop in 2.7 seconds - faster than any Porsche 911 currently available - and it can go on to a top speed of 165 mph.

Hand-built in Southern California, the Rezvani Beast is on sale now with a base price that lies in the vicinity of $165,000. The company has not revealed how many examples it plans on building, though it warns that turning an Ariel Atom 3 into a Beast can take anywhere between eight and 12 weeks.

Since the atom is priced well beyond the means of most I'm going to assume this thing is just out there.

For what it's worth, the atom is awesome, but those things are NOT in any way a cost proposition. I wish there was more companies like Factory Five that are looking to offer performance vehicles that are within reach of the average track hobbyist.

165,000

........

Absolutely ridiculous.

FlatBlackCaddy

I'm guessing they priced it so that the first 3 or 4 sold covers all the development costs, you know, just in case they don't sell any more than 3 or 4 of them.

Cookie Monster

I think it looks fucking cool (other than the wheels).

I'd pay $165k for one.

There's one person, just 3 more to go.

Front end kind of reminds me of the BMW GINA concept.

Wheels need to go for something more subdued, but hell yeah, I can get behind this.

The car looks wild, but you want subdued wheels?

SVT666

It almost looks like a drop top version of the Sesto Elemento.

Yeah, gunmetal or black would look better.

Same wheels in gunmetal grey would be incredible.  I don't like shiny wheels either.

It's cool and all, but I just can't get past the fundemental concept of a bare bones enthusiast car costing as much as a relatively well rounded and we'll equipped Porsche gt3 that itself comes with a badge premium.

This. Factory Five had the right idea with the $9995 818 kit, but they really fucked it up by letting their engineer design it. They held a public contest to design it, and it could've looked awesome, but instead it's awkward and boring looking.

What FFR should have done was just scale down the GTM and engineer it to take a common (probably a honda) transverse 4 cylinder fwd based powerplant in a mid engined configuration.

Bam, done. WWJD? That's what he would drive. Price it at like 15-17 as a roller (no susp donor needed). Just rims, engine, transmission and ecu.

Mark Smith (co-founder of FFR with his brother Dave) is kind of doing just that. His current kit car is based on the Jetta and looks better than the 818. He also has a smaller GTM (which he designed) in the works that will be 4 cyl based and a finished cost of under $20k. Google "Smyth Performance".
