Brake pads?

I eventually want to do an OEM BBK, but for right now I just want to work with what I have. I have been reading that a good set of pads and DOT 5 fluid are more than enough for aggressive street driving. I generally don't get too much fade, but sometimes it happens. Plus I want a sharper pedal feel and more bite. I mean my car has the same brakes as an old Accord while weighing 400lb less so I think stock is fine for now. Any recommendations?

I have slowed down a bit but maybe once every 100 days I will hit 100 or so. I'm really looking more for better feel and a stiffer pedal.

Pads won't give you a stiffer pedal.    Replace the factory rubber brake hoses with some stainless braided units and do a full fluid flush for that rock-hard pedal feel!

+1.  A flush and bleed might help a little if you've got some air it there, but pedal softness is typically a function of the lines.  Rigidity of the pedal/master cylinder mount might also come into play.

SS lines and a fluid flush are definitely in the cards.

I am still at a loss on what pads to go with though. Consensus elsewhere seems to be that Stoptech's street pads >>>> Hawk HPS, which is a start. Seems like a lot of people are running track or semi-track pads on the street which seems silly. I do remember some friends of mine swapped their rotors and pads on their Altima V6s and Maximas back in the day, and that made a HUGE difference. Back to back stops from 120 with no fade. I was crazy impressed. I want that kind of performance. I know those brakes are shit stock too because my brother has an Altima V6

Hawk HPS are grate. My only complaint is they don't make a pad for Axnt. So I went with Power Stop Z23 Evolution Sport Carbon Fiber/Ceramic pads up front. They are better than OE, but not very impressive.

Fade is more than pads.  Loss of pedal is usually caused by boiling fluid, which is a cooling issue and not really a pad issue.

Axnt fades with one hard stop from 90. Lame.

They dont look bad. I will give them an honest look. I need new rotors too. Mine are glazed and judder on fast stops. Kinda sucks.

I think I will do the brakes and suspension in October. Might do wifey's too

120s or 125s? Is the cryo treatment worth it? I want to do ~2-3 track days a year. This is all looking pretty affordable... should be like $400 with SS lines. I think I already have a couple jugs of Motul 5.1 sitting around too..... if not, is DOT 5/5.1 fluid worth it?
