New 2016 Civic leaked

I think it has high showroom factor. It has a nice interior and can probably sell on that alone. Agreed though, the exterior is horrible and I'm not a fan of its kind of tweener size. It has a midsize body with economy size wheel wells. So. Much.  Sheetmetal.

They're clearly trying to make room for a Fit sedan (which exists)

I know I don't like it. I hope it drives well, because nobody will buy it based on looks.

You never know.  I can't imagine anyone thinks 99% of cars on sale today are attractive, but people do and people buy them.

I can't figure out how most new cars get past the sketch stage.

I didn't know these were on sale! I saw my first one today with regular, non manufacturer plates. The rear is strange, but the car generally looks good.

The sedan looks kinda athletic, if a bit weird in person and live photos.

This looks like hot garbage.

Or order from fortune auto and when lyft rider asks why your car feels bumpy you can show them the dyno curve

It's not terrible. The drop off on the front looks very 3-series from the side. Other than that it looks like a shrunken Accord Crosstour, except somehow more appealing. The butt looks too big though.

Is it a coupe or a hatchback? I shouldn't have to ask that question. I think I am going to swing by the dealer this weekend to check out the sedan. These things don't photograph well.

The ass is too low and is constructed like someone pinching off a turd. The rear cluster is kinda neat, but both in pictures and person (sedan) it looks too low and big.

That C pillar is frustrating and just makes the car look wonky and awkward.

I can't tell if the wheelbase is too long or too short.

I fucking hate this car

Drove the 2016 Civic non-turbo on Wednesday, and was pretty impressed. Driving dynamics and quality are greatly improved, and the styling is pretty sharp from the side and rear. The front -- to me -- looks a little small and weak in comparison, and I really don't like all the black plastic all over it. But I liked it a lot overall.

And in light of the trunk space discussion before, trunk volume improved a lot over last year's and the opening is also larger:

The front is better than the back but I agree about the black plastic. The rear is really funky.

I'd also prefer a trunk.

But I will say it looks like a huge improvement over my dad's 2001 Civic that he had for a while.

Husky doesn't want a trunk, it wants a wagon to bounce around in.

Or a SUV.

Yikes. That coupe is all sorts of weird. I can't even put my finger on it. It's like ten awkward styling cues crashing together.

Saw pics of the new Sentra. What the hell is going on with Nissan/Honda/Toyota design.

CJ

I saw one of these tonight. Not a huge fan.

SVT666

I saw a new Civic sedan at the dealership today. Meh. Not horrible, but not great either. But it does look big.

Morris Minor

i saw one on the road yesterday on drive-out temporary tags. My main impression too was that it's big - close to, and to all intents & purposes in, Accord territory.

Hoping they make some in non-Crosstour body styles.

And my Civic is firmly in Accord territory, at least interior wise, and for what we think of as Accords. Accords today are actually like Acura Legend size. This has just completed the exterior growth.

When you think about it, it's a lot of car for the $$$. The Civic has cost about the same across all its trims for the last ~20 years, but a 2016 LX sedan is a hell of a lot more car than the tin can from 96. Still though, this thing is big, heavy and ugly.

On a positive note they are going to offer the 1.5T with the stickshift for the 2017MY. It will still be ugly though.
