Eye of the Tiger

I have acquired a Summit. Nobody was effective at talking me out of it. I wish you were, because I destroyed the engine driving it home. I'll be looking at a new piston, or aa whole junkyard engine.

Junkyard engines are going for $400 all day. A piston is $12. I might as well see if I can drop the oil pan.

Lettuce see, what else is wrong with it aside from engine...

¶Back glass is plexiglass. Nice job with the gorilla tape. Could I get some good windshield adhesive to really seal the plexiglass?
¶Windshield has a crack, but will be okay for a while.
¶Wipers no wipey, and no squirty, either.
¶Battery is junk.
¶Top of fuel tank leaks
¶Valve cover leaks
¶Valves lash needs adjusting
¶AC system is missing some parts

This is a $600 car that was advertised, "everything works as it should"

Dude. No. Look, I test drove it and it had a light piston slap. Like, no big deal. 20 miles into the 30 mile trip home, I'm pretty sure either a skirt broke off or a bearing spun. because it got super loud and erratic, then started overheating. But that's only a guess until I drop the oil pan.

Call the junkyard, see what you can get for it as a haul away. Cut your losses and run.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Nah, it's worth a $400 junkyard engine. It has zebra seat covers.

There's no such thing as a <$2000 car. That's where you'll be to make this POS roadworthy. Now you're out $600, and you have a massive headache to deal with.

Junkyard might give me 300. So I can either lose 300 straight away, or put 400 into it and most likely have a driveable car.

You took a chance on a $600 car and lost. I would take the loss and move on. Even if you get a good motor in it, adding $400 and an honest weekend's worth of work still leaves you gambling with the rest of the car: and quite frankly its not a car worth gambling on.

Same engine family, just a 1.5 instead of 2.0. Fuel injected. No jet valves. Distributor on the back of the head. Manual valve adjustment. And a broken piston.

I wouldn't waste my time on it. $300 from the junkyard, and start over.

Also, I thought you needed a van
