Well kinda. Clutch is holding fine, but something is up with the pressure plate, so its all coming out.

$800 for labor and flywheel machining
$170 for pressure plate
$150 for clutch disc
$50 for throw-out bearing

Perhaps I really didn't need to downshift from 5th to 3rd that last time.

Heh....thanks to BMW's all-knowing fuckery, my first clutch was gone after about 70K.  Stupid CDV....glad that's gone.  The clutch in the Wolfsburg felt perfectly fine when I sold it at 85K miles, no sign of wear.  And I taught two people stick on that car.  I bet it's still on that first clutch, wherever it is.  Clutch delay valves need to be abolished.

I'll know what was left on the clutch disc in a couple days. I suspect it will be plenty as most of my driving is highway.

That CDV must have been pretty bad to cause that kind of wear. I'm pretty sure the S2K has one as well and I didn't particularly notice it on that car.

On the CSX I'm sure the DBW was a big contributing factor as it makes smooth gear changes damn near impossible at times. Driving the RSX is so smooth in comparison.

The AP1 at least, did not.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

I looked and you're right; yes for the AP2, no for the AP1. Which is stupid; I loved the clutch on mine and do not see how a CDV could have improved it.

And apparently, reverting to the AP1 clutch cylinder is a fairly common thing.

Honda must have been concerned about drivetrains shock on the AP2s.

In 49 years of driving stick shifts I've never blown a clutch or worn one out.  The worst that has happened was a bad pilot bearing.

VTEC_Inside

Other than my moms '90 Sunbird way back, I've never driven a car where the clutch started to slip...

My Accord had a bit of a chatter due to old pressure plate, but never slipped. It was changed when the engine was swapped, that was the original clutch at 270,000~ kms and it was just about done.

Should have the CSX back this weekend along with the old parts, will be interesting to see.

Only clutch I've changed had a clearance problem with the flywheel bolts, which would shake the car from a stop.

Had a friend who murdered her clutch after a few months, though. I even warned her after I heard her leave a party and rev the damn thing to 3k just to get moving. Obviously she didn't listen.

12,000 RPM

I burnt the clutch on my 1st Accord. It only had 90K miles when I got it and I couldn't have put more than ~20K on it before it went.

I am pretty hard on my current clutch. If it goes I will use it as an excuse to get a lightweight flywheel :evildude:

Original SHO was a lot of engine for a small clutch. I replaced it once (at around 165k), previous owners each did a clutch too...

I picked up the car yesterday. Clutch feels lighter than it did, shifter effort is down too. Everything in general just feels a lot smoother.

None of the old parts actually look all that bad, covered in clutch dust sure, but nothing jumps out at me.

The clutch disc is work a little more at the outer edges than towards the middle. That might lend to my belief that the pressure plate had gone bad....

I'll have a closer look in the next day or two. The

Shifter effort went down in my dad's VW after he adjusted the clutch. Kind of an unexpected relation.

I credit the fresh MTF.

Took the clutch out of the trunk and put it in the basement... Was gonna take pics, but I had to clean up the trail of clutch dust I left behind me on the floor...

Make a clock out of it.

That was the plan..  Not sure if I'm gonna use the pressure plate or the clutch disc.

Whichever one offers the best looking clock, I guess.
