2o6 Review - Honda Civic

2o6

+ Honda has been screwing up shifters and steering on the old Civic, Honda used to be acclaimed for good steering and good manual transmissions. It seems like they took that to heart on this car and fixed those issues.

+ excellent shifter and clutch

+ amazing handling

+ good ride

+ reasonably priced

+ good room

+2.0L is pretty peppy and balanced, but still feels like a Honda where you have to work for the torque a little

+ despite being big, it feels really light and easy to drive

Negatives

- remember when compact cars were actually compact? This thing is no joke, about as big as a not that old Accord

- some of the finishings don't feel like they'll hold up (rear seat fabric, floor fabric) over time

- Manual only comes on base LX trim

- kinda weird looking from the back

- rear floor isn't flat anymore. Kinda silly to complain, but it's been a feature of civics for so long now

Quit slackin, Honda.
Even if it is the best "compact" car on the market, it sure as hell is hard to look at. I hope the Si loses some of that ugly.

So I guess this wasn't the 1.5L turbo. Is that only available in autotragic?

Until 2017.

So now we have the Accord, and the Accord Inspire. Civic is dead.

To be fair, it drives great.

But it's big and feels expensive.

There needs to be a Fit Sedan

SMH! I can't remember the last time Honda put out a really good looking car. S2000?

I quite like how this Civic looks

I'm still anxious to get info on the new Si.  The fact that it isn't coming out right on the heals of the redesign gives me hope that it'll be more than just a bigger engine and an LSD dumped into the Civic like the last Si was.  I'm still not fully on board with the awkward is it/isn't it a hatchback look the current Civic is sporting, but everything I've read about this car has been great.

The fit is the only car i have even the slightest bit of interest in.

Though I've never been much of a honda guy, I always preferred good cars.

Seriously though, the fit range should have the 4 door hatch, sedan and of course performance variants of each.

What about your Del Sol?

Don't ever talk about my Del Sol.

You had a Del Sol? I bet it was black with an autotragic.

Be careful what you wish for. Fit barely works as a hatchback with all that damn height.... here's what a sedan would look like:

Best bet would be something really weird like a CR-Z based sedan. I was gonna say it should be an Acura, but with this now I'm wondering what happens with the ILX. This thing is basically the size of the last TSX. What a mess

Heh, the Fit sedan would look as tippy as an Aerio.

The Grace/City IS a Fit sedan.

It looks ok, about as goofy as everything else in the segment.

2o6

Also the 1st gen Fit sedan (Fit Aria) is far goofier than the City

The 2nd gen isn't so bad, tho

12,000 RPM

That second gen is tolerable. Wonder how it would look "sportified"

I was just thinking a sedan for the market in general. I wouldn't want a sedan at all, none of the looks or versatility of a hatchback.
