I'm excited about this car for the Rabbit replacement next year. A FWD SX Turbo looks pretty good. But the gas mileage is so bad the new LWB Infiniti EX (QX50 :wanker: ) looks like a viable contender. Not really a big concern though as wifey only drives like 10K miles a year. Still, I am somewhat smitten by the quasi Cayenne exterior and Audiesque interior

New Tiguan looks good too but I just do not trust VW anymore.

The front end is rather dreadful looking, imo.

Yeah, the exterior is a step back from the old car.

Haha, I watched a minute or so of the video and couldn't tell what he meant.

It looks like an econo-CUV, which is what it is.

Old car looks OLD. This one smooths things out and looks current.

I am curious to see how it looks in person though.

Why don't you trust VW? The diesel emissions thing?

Yep

Theyre gonna be strapped for cash for a while..... last time they were we got the god awful MKIV era. I wouldn't touch any VWAG product from 98-04 with a 100 foot pole. Stench still lingered after with shit like the Touareg and all their carbon buildup problems. Sucks because a new Tiguan + dad GTI (5 door) looks like a really good combo to me, and with all the shit VW is in I know I could get a good deal on both. Just going to drive the Civic into the ground and prob get this and a new bike

I really like the current Sportage and this new one seems to be a logical upgrade.

Lack of a manual is disappointing, but to be expected in this day and age.

I am getting this one:

AWD, 2.0 CRDI Diesel with 185 HP with almost twice the torque of the similarly powered 2.4 GDI petrol model.

I looked for your Passat while I was there.  Didn't see it.

Mine was one in a million ..... well, with a million cars on the road chances were slim. Actually for the 2,5 months I stayed there after selling the car I didn't saw it again either, and the guy who bought it was working nearby.

Still, the diesel rattle outside is not of my liking, I prefer the quietness and the odor(less) of the petrol engine.

Saw one of these in the flesh. Nice, but really similar proportionally to the old one. Old one is growing on me, esp for the price
