You're likely not going to keep it very long, so it should hold out for a few weeks/months anyways.

I thought the turbo timing issue was with coking the oil, not with the turbo itself. It's not a problem with synthetic oil.

30-60 seconds after a long drive is hardly a price to pay to be sure.  I did it with my turbos.

I thought that you flip your cars quite frequently.

I have a flip car and a real car.

The Yaris I had for two years.

Oh, okay.  Good luck with the Sonic then.  I wouldn't worry about the turbo.  If it's water cooled, it should be good for about 150k miles.

If you keep the stock tune the turbo should be fine.  All the cars that come in with blown turbos have trifecta tunes.

yeah, cuz the manufacturers certainly would have tuned them for less hp just because....

Still having starting issues. I have the dealer holding onto it.

Soo, I got a CEL P0299. "Under boost" also with a slow car. This is fairly common, TBR's fiancee's actually set the same code this week on his 1.4T Cruze.

The wastegate actuator pin likes to get hung up, and usually it's open when it should be closed. I've got lumpy, little, or no boost.

Disappointed, more at the dealer than the car. The GM dealer that I bought this car off of is atrocious. They gave me the shittiest example of a loaner. And the loaner overheated in traffic!

Thank goodness for a warranty, at least.

Full engine replacement?

No, just the turbo. The waste gate sticks OPEN not closed so no damage gets done. You just don't have boost.

It's so much better now. Boost comes on much linearly - and many people probably wouldn't be able to tell if it was a turbo car or not.

So, how much under the hood hasn't been replaced now?
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Lol, the engine itself.

The Trans was replaced, and a few other things because I complained.

Sounds almost like you're buying a brand new car one piece at a time.

Basically I've been "that guy" at the dealership.

Are you getting it all fixed at the dealership you bought it from or a different one?

So what's this thing dynoing at with the new turbo? Gotta be at least 500 rwhp, right?

No joke, there are guys on the sonic forum that have the trifecta tune turned all the way up and getting 180HP at the wheels

Then the turbo usually breaks, but still

So "terrible in every way" is a thing you say to people about their cars? Especially since most of us here aren't even sure if you've driven 1/6th of the cars that fill you with so much rage....

I mean, dyno runs and online spreadsheets are one thing, but driving a car in real life is another.
