^^^Shape completely fixed

^^^911 shape fully realized

^^^Fucking Minority Report infotainment system.... driver can't even reach the far end of the screen lmao!!!!

Base engine is a 440HP 2.9L V6TT and engine range goes up to the 550HP 4.0L V8TT in the Turbo S. Again for this kind of car though who gives a shit about more HP.... that V6 will prob be enough and sound better IMO. JFC man.

I take it back, I would get this over the Macan.

Yeah.  I have zero desire to own a Model S after seeing this thing.  It's soooo much better.

Between this, the Macan and the Cayman I feel like the 911 is the ugly one in the lineup.

I've always liked these anyways. Who doesn't like an SUV with a much much lower center of gravity?????????   It's not like you're off-roading a Porsche anyway.

So little has changed about it too. Shows the impact of good design

The Panamera is not an SUV.  Nor is it an SUV with a lower center of gravity.  It's a sedan.

Scroll down a bit and you can get a photo with a slider with the new and old Panameras.  Looks like the C pillar treatment helped, and so did extending the trunk lid.

I think they increased the tumblehome, but they could go further and make it look better.  Also, the side vents are too vertical.  If they leaned them forward or back, they could have added even more emotion in the design.  Or added a detail that carries from the front around to the sides to tie everything in front of the A pillars together.  Right now I don't feel the front fascia, hood, and fenders meshes well with the rest of the design.

I'm too lazy to look up interior space but I'm guessing it's not a ton different between the Cayenne and Panamera.
(well, maybe more trunk space in the Cayenne)

That tool is pretty damn cool. Again amazing to see how some tiny tweaks here and there can make such a huge difference. The big issue they resolved was eliminating that sea of metal around the C-pillar. Bigger wheels, more glass, and the illusion of a slimmer tail by lengthening it. Pretty brilliant. It's basically the same exact car.

I agree that the side vents are not "dynamic" enough. Front could probably be a bit more exciting but I think the more important thing is that it looks like a modern Porsche. Plus with those top mount turbo engines and pedestrian regs it's actually pretty good. I hope R&T does one of their design analyses on this.

Fuck yo couch, I've always liked the Panamera. Read the date: January 15, 2011.

When I saw the pictures when it debuted on the auto show circuit I thought it was horrendous, just awful, but after I'd seen one in the 'flesh' my feelings about it took a complete 180°.

I think it is a sexy, sexy car. Absolutely none of its competitors are anything like it, save perhaps the Maserati Quattroporte. Why settle for some boring Audi, BMW, Lexus or Mercedes-Benz? The controversial part of the styling is obviously the hind end which on first glance is too fat and stubby but from afar it looks remarkably similar to a 911 (in principle).

I thought a four-door Porsche was heresy but now I applaud them for the effort. If I was the kind of person who wanted a car in that class the first one I'd test drive would be the Panamera.

Don't forget this version is coming still.
