I also don't really fit in an NA/NB comfortably.

ND fits me like a glove.

Nonsense. Didn't you learn the Inverse Penile Length Ratio?

Lp = c/(Lt * H^3)
--
Lp = length of dong
H = ride height delta vs. stock
Lt = wheelbase length
c = the Brodozer constant

The ratio clearly states that Miata drivers are hung like horses.

Fair enough.  I usually only apply the IPLR to trucks.

Yeah. And since my truck is now stock, I must have a large penis. :devil:

It wasn't stock before, so you had an enlargement.

NC was kind of a strange bird, but I liked it better than the NB.  NB is the worst of all the Miatas IMO.

Once they put the smiley face on, it made it really good looking.

Uh...ride height delta?  So if you have a stock Miata, your penis is divided by 0 and therefore undefined?

If you drive a stock NA:

Lp = c/(155.4*0^3)
Lp = c/(155.4*0)
Lp = c/0
Lp = Undefined

I actually think the NC looks good, but yeah was not a fan of the retractable hard top version.

I think I'd still prefer a normal Miata to the RF version, but the RF seems much better executed than the NC hard top. Its certainly a lot nicer to look at.

MrH

I think I like the looks of the soft top better, but would probably prefer to live with the RF.  The biggest difference is price.  There's a couple of RFs around here, but they'll go for $32k or so.  I could probably get a '16 soft top club model for <$25k now.  Big difference.

OK, thinking of getting this plate:

with "MIATA" or "NDFTW".

[NP] "HARD" was briefly considered but dismissed due to possible allegations of sexual innuendo. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NP-hardness

The stealership forgot to send me the Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin, gotta wait 'til that arrives before I can get a title. :cry:

Is life better? It is when I find occasion to drive the thing the way I want to! Yesterday the roads were clogged all fucking day long so I was just in 1st and 2nd gear the whole time. Life gets a lot better when I'm no longer behind a Leaf going 2 under the limit. The car doesn't feel super fast when you race through the gears to 60, but the eagerness in the lower gears is really endearing. Combined with the responsiveness of the chassis and the steering, it's just sublime. 3rd gear on a windy road makes me feel like a Viper pilot. :lol: I imagine things will be better still when I can pop the top reliably.

Infotainment is good. Very little latency, the redundant control knob is handily designed and well placed, screen is very readable, though it displays finger smudges too easily IMO.

I am very happy with the car. It's everything I would want a Miata to be in terms of looks and handling. I don't even give a shit about power anymore - it's enough. I had my 300hp phase, that was cool, but it's still fun and generally less law-infringing to wring the neck of a 155hp motor. That said... where the fuck are the power mods? It's like SkyActiv is some form of alien tech.

Aren't the SkyActiv-G engines already perilously close to the limits of compression before they ping? All the ECU flash reviews I read involve the author constantly tweaking the settings for environmental conditions to avoid predetonation.
