Leaked? If so, it must have been a gaffe by Honda UK.

Looks like we're inching closer to a production version. I think it looks adorable.

Looks like it is 95%+ production ready, and it does look adorable.

SJ_GTI

Look like the Honda version of a Mini Cooper. Looks good IMHO.

MrH

Looks great.  Doubt it's coming here though.

Looks like the Honda version of the Civic. How redundant.

Not a leak. Fully Charged has a half hour video on it. Haven't watched yet though.

Oh my, that would be amazing.  I'd consider buying one.

I love this thing, but its kinda tiny isn't it?  Although, I could see it as a fantastic city car with a nice S2K or Boxster in the garage for the weekends.

I just meant small, retro, and fun looking.

A few notes from the video.

~95% production ready
4 seater
5 doors (to make them shorter so that it's easier to get in and out in tight parking spaces)
124 mile range
Rear motor/RWD
Left hand drive and right hand drive (they didn't talk about North America or US specifically)
On sale in 2019
Cameras instead of side/rear-view mirrors (probably making it to production but not 100% clear on that)
Sportier version isn't out of the question
Roof is glass, not black painted, though only the front has a moonroof?
Interestingly, the designer said that they actually started on the production model first, and built the "Urban EV Concept" from a few years ago just for show purposes.

Public unveiling at Geneva in a couple weeks.

Everything about it sounds cool, such a shame it isn't for North America (at least for now). The reported "low" range doesn't bother me and I don't live in anything like an urban environment. 124 miles seems fine for most suburban trips and probably would be fine in most exurbs as well.

giant_mtb

Yeah, 124 miles is plenty for urban driving and light rural driving.

Is that official? In the video, they just didn't say anything either way (though it's possible I missed something - I was making breakfast as I watched/listened).

+1

More than enough for daily commuting for the majority of people, but it still low enough to be impractical for most single car households.

Any pricing discussions?  At $20k, this thing would sell like crazy in the US.  At $50k, not at all.

Small EVs like this would be neat little loaner cars for dealerships, body shops, or businesses like mine where people are out of a vehicle for the day.  If the price is right...

SJ_GTI

No way could it be 20k.

Probably best case would be ~30k nicely optioned, but I could see this being in the same ballpark as a Bolt (maybe a couple grand cheaper because of the smaller battery).

If it was 40k or above it would indeed be pointless.

Nothing in the video, unless I missed it. I don't think they even mentioned the actual battery size.

But considering it's on sale this year, hopefully they'll have some pricing info at Geneva.

2o6

It's probably going to be priced against the Renault Zoe, which is more city oriented. The Zoe is about ~ 3k cheaper than the Leaf.

I wouldn't be surprised if it comes here and it's *slightly* cheaper than the Leaf.

This is actually how a lot of production cars go. The vast majority of "concepts" are faked.

Fair enough. The designer from the video said that it's the first time they've done that at Honda as far as he knows, but I'll take your word that it's somewhat common elsewhere.

Lexus did it. JDM upper level ESes have cameras instead of mirrors.

May make it for the JDM market, but expect real mirrors if this makes it to North America.

It's illegal in the US I think, so it's not coming here.

Audi E-Tron has it in Europe, but gets conventional mirrors here.

Yeah, I should have elaborated that I meant in the context of North America. I don't know which FMVSS it is, but pretty sure there is one that specifies minimum mirror dimensions.
