BMW E34 M5 Touring Is An Epic Family Car From The 1990s And It's For Sale In The USA

If you're in the market for a high-performance super estate but don't have the funds for a new Audi RS6 Avant or Mercedes-AMG E63 Wagon, this 1992 BMW M5 Touring could be the perfect alternative.

While the current-generation M5 is not sold in Touring form, the beloved E34-generation was, and this one is said to be the first of just 891 Touring models built throughout a three-year production run.

The car was sold new in Germany and resided in the country until it was imported to California in 2007. It was purchased by the seller in 2014 and currently resides in Warwick, New York. Over the years, the owner freshened it up and lightly modified it to keep it feeling new.

The Bring A Trailer listing confirms the car was repainted in the original shade of Diamond Black Metallic back in 2008 with contrasting Granite Silver Metallic on the rocker panels, front air dam, and rear valance. The front bumper, hood, and front quarters were repainted again in 2012 to repair stone chips. The seller has also applied Euro-style headlights, new lower door trim, new door handle gaskets and trims, a new factory exhaust system, replacement suspension, and a 3.73:1 limited-slip differential.

Inside, new leather upholstery was fitted over the front and rear seats in 2008. The M5 Touring includes factory options like heated front seats, automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, rear sunshades, an alarm system, and rear reading lamps. The car has a total of 239,000 miles (385,000 km) on the clock, which is a lot, but the 3.8-liter inline-six engine still seems to be running well.
