1987 Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo Evoluzione Was One of 500 Group A Homologation Specials

Thanks to cars like the Giulia and Stelvio, Alfa Romeo has entered a new era. However, no matter how good these new Alfas might be, they are nowhere near as desirable as this 75 Turbo Evoluzione that sold a few weeks back.

The 75 Turbo Evoluzione was produced in 1987 in just 500 examples in order to meet Group A requirements. Listed for sale by Italian car dealership Ruote da Sogno, where it sold for $103,000, this car showed just 45,947 miles (73,945 km) on the odometer and had all the original factory components aside from a new exhaust setup and a completely restored interior.



The exterior is finished in Rosso Alfa, and the original wheels are color-matched to the hue. In typical 80s fashion, the car sports a set of boxy fender flares that significantly increase its width over the regular 75 sedan, and a large "75 Turbo Evoluzione" decal runs down the side. The 75 Turbo Evoluzione also features unique front and rear bumpers, setting it apart from the normal 75 even further.

The interior has been completely restored, and it features black-and-white checkered cloth seats and door cards along with a black dashboard and door uppers. The carpeting, which was also refurbished, is a neutral dark grey. Framed by the three-spoke steering wheel are orange-backlit gauges for speed, RPM, fuel, oil, coolant, and boost pressure, all of which are in working order.



Under the hood of the 75 Turbo Evoluzione is a 1.8-liter inline-four that sends 153 hp (155 PS / 114 kW) and 167 lb-ft (226 Nm) of torque to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission, and while that may not sound like a lot, the car only weighs 2,535 lb (1,150 kg). The sprint from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) takes a respectable 7.6 seconds, and top speed is rated at 137 mph (220 km/h).
