Renault has created a pure-play EV company, Ampere, & is planning to float it off in an IPO.

Good way of allowing focus on clean-sheet bespoke EV platforms rather than cobbling stuff from the ICE parts bin.
I think this is not a bad way to go for legacy automakers; Volvo owns its separate Polestar company, & Ford at least has taken a step down the road, breaking out its "Model E" numbers separately.
