A friend of mine recently got a '93 Subaru Impreza with the 2.2L 4-cylinder.  He wants to put a cold air intake on it and he wants to know if his MAF sensor will work with a cold air intake...

Any ideas?

Yes, as long as he retains it....

What kind of CAI?

Homemade or is it made specifically for the car?

It's made specifically for the car and it's a name brand one from AEM.

Hey I've got a 93 with the 2.2...is he AWD or FWD?  Please, lemme know how he likes the CAI after he gets it on...

He's got AWD and I'll be sure to post the results in this thread when/if he gets it.  He tried putting a different filter on and he said it made it rev easier/quicker.  So now he wants to do the whole intake.  At least the filter and tubing.

I'd get an eBay special or make my own...the AEM peice will cost him like $150 new with almost no gain.

He showed me this one on eBay...

But then I pointed out that it's for an 02-04...but...something like that I suppose.

Alright...he just told me he's gonna make his own and if it doesn't work he'll buy one.
