0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds, from 0-100 mph in 7.3 seconds and top speed of 211 mph
"On a given day, a given circumstance, you think you have a limit. And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit, and you think, 'Okay, this is the limit'. And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high." - Ayrton Senna

RUF CTR

Not sure if that counts as a production car, but no, that's not it.

SVT_Power

"The CTR's combination of a low curb weight, a high power output and carefully chosen gear-ratios combined to give it awesome performance - it could go from 0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds, from 0-100 mph in only 7.3 seconds and hit a top speed of 211 miles per hour, making it the fastest production car available in the world at the time."

So it was a production car. guess it wasn't the fastest in 1991

Raza

I still consider Ruf a "tuner", like Brabus.  Still, as I said, it's not the fastest.

I believe it's officially considered a manufacturer

Whether or not, it's not the fastest in 1991.

Yes I realize that. I was just trying to clear it up

Raza

I realize that it's considered a manufacturer, but unless they physically build the cars from a pile of car bits, I don't consider them a real manufacturer.  However, if I run into Alois Ruf, I'll deny that.

Not an F40, and as for the Vector W12, I've never heard of that, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't exist.  If you meant the Vector M12, then that's a car, yeah, but it didn't break 200mph and wasn't made until 1995.

EDIT:  My "R" is being funky.

McLaren F1 was started in 1991 wasnt' it?

edit: WAIT NEVER MIND... Bugatti EB 110 GT?

Raza

It is the Bugatti EB100.

The GT came along later, and further raised the bar.  The Mclaren came about in 1994, I believe, and then took the title of fastest production car until Bugatti reclaimed it with their current monstrosity.

It's actually more obvious than you think. Think Ford [and no not Mercury or Lincoln or anything stupid like that]...and its relatives.

Okay.

What automaker once used the slogan "Inexpensive and built to stay that way", and what slogan replaced that one?

Raza

No idea, but I'm going to guess Skoda, and now it's "Simply Clever".  But that's probably wrong.

Subaru is correct, but I'm looking for the slogan that came immidiately after "inexpensive".
