The Car Trivia Game

We have a thread for everything else, so why have not one of these as well?  :tounge:

Basically, post an auto-related trivia question. Whoever gets it right first posts the next one. Complications will be dealt with if they occur.

Searching for the answers doesn't prove knowledge of auto trivia, only that you know how to use a search engine, so just go with what you know. You'll see the answer sooner or later anyway. Question posters: if you have to search to find a fact, remember that the chances are good that anyone else would, too. Try to limit it to things you already know off the top of your head.

Question #1: What two brands have used the model name "Raider"? What is the similarity between the two Raiders?

bobwill

Didn't Jeep have a pickup truck named the Raider back in the 80s?
I think Mitsubishi had a Raider at some point also.
If these are right, well they'd both fall into the light truck category.

Raza

Mitsu has a Raider right now, a decent looker.

Dodge and Mitsubishi. The Dodge Raider was a rebadged '80s Mitsubishi Montero, and the Mitsubishi Raider was (is?) a rebadged Dodge Dakota.

Correct. And because I'm sure you knew you were correct, you could have posted the new one right then.

;)

The Ford Raider was a rebadged wagon version of the Mazda Bravo, sold in the late 80s to mid 90s.

Aussies and their silly names.

The Jeep Cherokee XJ was sold for 18 model years. How many years was it sold with the option of a diesel engine somewhere in the world, and how many years in North America?

ifcar

Are you counting the licensed version currently built in China?

93JC

No. '84-'01, production from Toledo.

Just last week I was just talking to my cousin who's moving to the UK, and wants to buy a used diesel Cherokee.  I know this.

17 years, '85-'01.  A smelly little Renault TD at first, got switched to some Italian engine manufacturer in early to mid '90s.   And I think it was available for the first three years in North America.

Is that close enough?

:ohyeah:

The 2.1L Renault was replaced for '94 with a 2.5L VM Motori.

Awwright!  I love these games.

Okay, how many different Corvette concepts (not preproduction show cars) has Chevy produced over the years?

And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high." - Ayrton Senna

Colder.

The winner's just gonna guess the number anyway.  No one's gonna name them all.
