EDIT: Apparently these pictures are not real. Oh well, at least it's a 'glimpse' of what the new M3 might look like!

Wow I'm the first (even beat gasoline) to post the unveiling of a car we actually CARE about...

I got these pictures from Gen[M]ay www.genmay.com and I'm not sure about the accuracy.

-0-60 in only 4.9 seconds
-420hp/300tq or so

4.9 seems a bit slow doesn't it?

It's probably intentional in order to make the car sound that much faster after the magazines get their hands on it.

Depending on price, that could be a good deal.

Looks good, but I agree 4.9s is a bit slow for that kind of power.

sportyaccordy

The M5 isn't much faster. 0-60 is pretty much limited by traction...the 1/4 and 0-100 are much more telling.

The way the rear tire pokes out looks very mean. It looks like they went the way of the E36 M3 and left the exterior unchanged. I wonder if they will make another M3 sedan...

The guy in my office that just bought a 335i said that these pictures have been said to be photochops.  Apparently one way you can tell is that the license plate is on the bumper and all BMW plates are on the trunk lid.  Who knows, it looks pretty good though.

Yeah I read that these pics have been circulating on bimmer forums and have been established as fake, or so I heard from s2ki.com

I hope they're not real, I hate how the plate is on the bumper.

I'm 100% certain this isn't it.

Looks good though.

Yeah, but not quite as good as I hoped it would.

I just ran a check on the number plate.

Figures. I would think BMW would go to further extents to differentiate between the 335i and the M3. It should be a looker though...I imagine a lower stance, M5 style wheels and some kind of big mouth bumper in front with an F430 style diffuser in the rear. Have any tuners got to the 335i yet?

TheIntrepid

My bad... as I said I just took this from another forum I frequent. :(

29" rims, I hear.

BMW rims are getting ridiculous, especially on M cars.  The M6's rims look awful.

No.? It was hyperbole.

You should have said 29 meters if you were using hyperbole.

Well cars in general are getting bigger. The 17" on the original M6 would look pretty plebian wrapped in 60 series rubber to maintain the proper rolling radius. But that's another thread.

Anyway, there's no way this thing will look better than a E46 M3
