You know, if my Jeep is a piece of shit then Mahindras are subsequently worse, since they're just Jeep knockoffs with cheap parts...

They're not knockoffs per se... they are the exact same thing. Licensed too IIRC.

Raghavan

Yeah, they're licensed. And tell me how the truck on the first page looks anything like a Jeep?

Which is why I said at some point earlier in this thread "At least they're better than the Chinese."

Every offroad vehicle looks like a Jeep, since every offroad vehicle, if you go back far enough, is based on the idea of the Jeep.

Basically, look at it this way: American SUVs are all based off the idea of Jeep. European ones are based off the idea of the Land Rover, which was a Jeep knockoff originally. Asian ones are based off the idea of the Toyota Land Cruiser, which was, you guessed it, a Jeep knockoff.

Anyway, I wad just speaking broadly of Mahindra's core business for many years: the CJ-3s and CJ-5s (MM-?? in Mahindra's model naming?). I know they make other stuff (don't they still make those forward-control Japanese vans?), and at some point in the last five to ten years managed to engineer their own vehicle (at least, engineer most of it).

Naw man... I'm half Gujrati, a quarter Marathi, and a quarter Punjabi. I'm a mixture. I've been calling him Raghu quite a bit lately... it's like the sauce.

If you are a coconut (like me), you will not know it... let's just say central India!

I have been here a long time though, finished my masters in EE here, and been here since '94.

I've only been here since '91... but I was born in '89. I guess I'm a coconut.

BTW I'm in Canada so watch the Canada comments. :mask:

Hockey and hockey-related products for one. By hockey I mean 'ice hockey', not that women's game field hockey.

Umm... maple syrup, of course... uhh... can't think of many more Canadian stereotypes...

I'm pretty sure he's from Gujarat, yeah. I can't quite remember, but that sticks out in my head.
