335i 6MT MSRP: 38,900

S4 6MT MSRP: 47,500

Now keep in mind here that an S4 comes standard with things that are optional on the 335i (AWD, leather seats, sport package, etc...).

Comparably Equipped:

S4 w/ Premium Package and Sprint Blue Paint is $49,970
335i w/ Premium Package, Sport Package and Montego Blue Paint is $44,400
335xi w/ Premium Package, Sport Package (incl. 18" wheels) and Montego Blue Paint is $46,100

So if you want AWD the BMW is about ~4k cheaper, and if you don't care about AWD the BMW is about 5.5k cheaper.

On weight, a 335xi weighs 3814 lbs, a 335i weighs 3593 lbs, and an S4 weighs 3869 lbs. So if you want to save weight you can go with the RWD 335i, but if you want AWD the cars weigh about the same.

:ohyeah:

Although I don't know what would possess someone to get AWD on a 335i.

Better traction=better acceleration numbers?

Fuck that, you must only get a 3er with MT and RWD.

LonghornTX

Difficult takes a day, impossible takes a week.

SJ_GTI

AWD is nice in low traction situations.

If I moved back to Montreal, AWD (and a 6MT) would be a definite requirement.

It's nice to have, but why a requirement?

Champ

Put some snows on that Vdub you'd be fine!

Its a requirement for me, not in general. If I can have AWD, why settle for FWD or RWD?

Well i'd go

1. 335
2. S4

Or this way if price is really no object

1. RS4
2. 335

I thought you hated all VW's and Audis?

FlatBlackCaddy

I've always stated that i like Audi S and RS cars, they are the only VW/Audi products i'd ever buy, everything else isn't all that great IMO.

Depending on price, that could be a good deal.

After you wake up with the sun at 6am on someone's floor, coughing up cigarette butts and tasting like warm beer, you may well change your opinion on this matter.

Champ

I'm rated up to 400HP so I hope you don't have more than that!

Well i just ordered a catback and race pipe set as well as a computer upgrade from stillen. It should be here next week, it will probobly be around 420-430 FWHP.

I'd let you ride in it, but chances of mashing the gas yourself would be 50-50.

You're my age.  We're getting old.  Plus, now that you're married, your life expectancy has gone way down, since you're more likely to be poisoned by your wife.

I'm Serious. The Audi's have to be some of the biggest failures I have seen. It?s scary that they sell, with the reliability of Mercedes, but lack of name Benz recognition > I personally feel they are ugly cars, with sub par styling and Dynamics. It?s hard to imagine any real enthusiast liking any car they make.
