It's weird, I think the 4g is by far the best looking but I like the 2g the best.

Easiest one yet. Gen 2, even if it's a red x

Depending on price, that could be a good deal.

I know a guy who's dropping a 1g engine into a '97 Talon. I guess the 2g engines are the ones with crankwalk.

2g without any hesitation!

2g. The 4g is a fat pig, and i've heard its not even slightly engaging to drive.

The 2G was the last one to offer the GSX, which was AWD and turbocharged. It is therefore the last of the true DSMs.

From what I understand, the 1G had the best engine and the 2G had the best handling and looks.  2G for me.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

I thought the 1G and 2G had the same engine.

The 4GXX tall block was the same thing, but the heads were different, IIRC.

Why am I the only vote for the 1st gen Eclipse/Talon/Laser? Has everyone else here been hypnotized by Fast and Furious movies?

The MOPAR version of the 1G gave me my first good spanking at triple digit speeds, I had a '90 Celica at the time, and the guy walked me from 70-won't say here. I voted 2G b/c they're like an icon, with a cult following a ton of aftermarket parts--I consider it the import answer to the Mustang.

That must be it. We can't go 3 minutes on this board without someone verbally masturbating over the Fast and the Furious.

No, the 1st gen just looks too bland and late 80's for most people's tastes.
