That's funny, because my car no longer has it.

Why? That's awesome!

Dude...why?!

I don't really use it.  It was taking up space, and sucking away precious engine power.

Saved a lot of weight too, all that shit was rather heavy.

After you wake up with the sun at 6am on someone's floor, coughing up cigarette butts and tasting like warm beer, you may well change your opinion on this matter.

Impractical, IMO. A few pounds won't do jack to your speed due to weight, will it?

No, it won't.  But the car was noticeably quicker with the A/C off.  It's only a 1.6L, you probably don't have as much of a loss with the Intrepid.

Raza

They do actually sell the DB9 with a manual, but it was originally introduced as automatic-only, and as far as I know, the vast majority are still sold with automatic transmissions.

Its automatic.

Per their website (scroll down to "transmission"), it's available with a conventional 6 speed.

Edit: Raza beat me to it.

I think he meant more of the average part and not so much the automatic thing. At least that's what I think.

Im not saying I dislike the 911 GT3 at all. It is by far my favorite Porsche and one of my favorite cars, but in this comparison the DB9 is the one I would want in my garage at the end of the day. Its much rarer and oozes class. Now, in a perfect world I would have enough for the DB9 during the week and a GT3 for those weekend mountain runs! Just because we disagree though doesnt mean we don't belong on the forum.

I doubt the DB9 is more rare than a GT3.

Everyone has Porsches.  Not everyone has a DB9.  The current Astons are the most beautiful cars being built right now and are arguably one of the most beautiful designs of all time.  They are also quite capable and faster and handle better then almost anything any of us currently own.  I don't like Porshes....I never have.  The rear engine thing has never done it for me.  Give me the sexy beast that isn't quite as fast, but is still very fast.

You're quite right, the Vantage V8 and XK8 hold the title.

I've seen 'em all in the flesh, and IMO it's DB9 > V8 Vantage > XK8.

But that's not saying that the XK8 isn't drop-dead gorgeous.

I do, however, think that the Astons are starting to look too similar.

+1 That is what i was trying to say. The average person is just going to think you slapped a body kit and a spoiler on a regular 911. There are so many 911s on the road compared to other sports cars in the class that they have become overdone. I still love them but I think IMO the DB9 is just more beautiful, easier to live with, and has plenty enough power for a DAILY driver.

I've seen 1 GT3 in my entire life. And i've seen 2 DB9's.
Plus, i don't care if people think i riced out a 911... I want the driving experience.

Your joking right? Who trusts biased journalists to pick their car? And as we've said before this was an opinion thing with no right or wrong answer so all this bickering back and forth really has no point. You can't make someone like a car because it's the car that you like.

well naturally since i was having this convo with trep, you can imagine i picked the 911 gt3...sorry trep, i just like cars for real men lol  :ohyeah:

I just saw a new RS the other day and I have probably seen 10+ 996 GT3s in my town, but only one DB9.  I guess my town likes P-cars....
