Jetta Wagons aren't sold in Canada so I didn't include it.  V50's start at $33K here and the Forester is a crossover SUV more then it is a wagon.

To the discerning driver, yes.? To folks who judge by looks alone...not so much.

Like most of us, I've never driven any of these particular cars, so I'm not left with much.

If I was going to buy a little AWD turbo Subie, it wouldn't be the Legacy. I'd have to go for the smaller, and lighter Impreza, even if the new one is fugly. And once the price starts closing in on $30k, the Mazda 6 wagon just isn't a good deal anymore. It just doesn't have enough motor to keep up with the competition.

If I'm going to be stuck with an automatic, I'd like to have the torque of a big V8 in front of it, which leaves the Magnum. You can talk bad about Chrysler all you want, but from what I've heard, the LX platform is quite excellent. You can get a Magnum R/T with a 340hp V8 for $32k. Sounds good to me.

Exactly.  I will be buying used, and on the used market the Mazda and the Magnum RT are comparably priced, therefore I will be buying the bigger and faster Magnum RT.  This poll is dealing with new car prices and the RT is way more expensive then the Mazda when new.
