I would have to go with the F355.  It's my favourite Ferrari ever and one of my favourite supercars ever.  It's an absolutely beautiful machine and in my opinion looks better than the newer style models from the Prancing Horse.  I really disliked the look of the F360, and although the F430 is a big improvement, I still don't think it can hold a candle to the F355.

F355

(I would so love to buy this one right now, if I was spending ?40k on a car! - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/97R-FERRARI-355-GTB-BERLINETTA-F355_W0QQitemZ130121811000QQihZ003QQcategoryZ18180QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Or the F430 - still a damn nice car - but the money!!! I'd rather have two 355s in different colours!

F430 for show, F355 for the dough.  Chicks dig new Ferraris, and while it is far superior, dynamically, the 355 is more than enough car for me.  It would all depend on the situation for me.

Of these two, F355... I never realized how beautiful it is.

Of the Ferarri MR line, the 360 Challenge Stradale...

F355, the design is timeless. The F430 does look much better in that blue than in red.

F355, no question about it.  It's my favorite modern Ferrari.

355. My favorite "regular" ferrari if i may say so. (F40 is probably my favorite all time)

360>430 >>> 355.

The 360 is a work of art.? The 430 is that same work of art with a severe form of cancer, but the modena's inherent beauty saves it.? The 355 looks like it's stuck in the 80s. I never understood the obession with the F355, it looks like your general non-descript entry level Ferrari from that period.  328, 348, 355, they all looked alot alike.

I don't think the 328 looked very much like the 348 and 355.  And the 355 was the successor to the 348, so it makes sense that they look alike.  It's like lamenting that the DB9 looks like the DB7 or that the W211 looks like the W210.

The F355 is infinitely less pretentious and far more beautiful then the F430.  F355 for me.

omicron

The F355 is lovely; the F430 is a gaping black hole of huge vents and lumpiness.

  Are you serious?  To me the F355 is a timeless design, not stuck in any decade.  It's got all the Ferrari trademarks without looking cliched.  I'm surprised you talk about it being non-descript - to me it has tons more presence on the road than the 360/430.

I do like the 430 (especially in blue), but IMO the profile shot shows how fussy the 360/430 design is, and makes you realise it can't hold a candle to the beautiful 355.

Each to their own, though!  The world would be a boring place if we all had the same opinion.  We can't all be right  :P

F355 for me. I think it's one of their better looking cars. But I still like the ones after it.

It's a slaughter for the 355.

This one is hard...the 355 has classic lines, but the 430 is just so gorgeous and complex.  I voted 430

Complex yes, gorgeous, no.  Of course, one is entitled to his opinion, but anyone who thinks the 430 is gorgeous has apparently never seen any other Ferrari.

The 308/328/288GTO were aesthetically the pinnacle of the wedge-shaped V8 Ferraris, IMO.  The later 348 and 355 just look bulkier and, dare I say, a bit generic.  Sexy, sure, but it looks like other mid engine cars of the period.  I suspect why it's such a popular model when people decide to make a Fiero or MR2 look like a Ferrari.

The 430 brings back curves that, in my eyes, provide a visual link to its Dino ancestors.

I guess I just really dig the complexity of the design, and how each different angle reveals a new aspect.

Then again, I don't think there are any Ferraris that would win a beauty contest compared with, say, Aston Martin.

They aren't gorgeous in a classical sense. Comparing the 355 to the 430 is like comparing Scarlett Johanson to a porn star.

Exactly. I don't think you can look at the F430 and say it's hideous. Like a porn star it's fun to look at but doesn't have a timeless beauty like a Scarlett Johanson.

Speaking that if I had the money, current market values put the 355 at about $75,000-100,000 while the 430 regularly trades hands at about $300,000.  I'd go with the 355 for the moment even though I like both.
