Kyle Larson will give it a go this weekend as long as the weather holds up in Indy.  He stands a chance, but the Penske cars seem faster than his McLaren.  If he can pull off the win it would just be incredible.  One of the biggest feats of any driver in the last 50 years.

Quote from: WookieOnRitalin on May 18, 2024, 07:30:04 AMYes, a lot of people in Middle Tennessee drive Nissans. Like all things, Nissan fell into a situation where they had to focus on being profitable versus being interesting. I fail to see what they offer much to the enthusiasts even though they have made vehicles over time that I felt were engaging and interesting.

If I was going to buy a Nissan now it would be an Pro 4x Xterra. A true utility vehicle that is half the price of a FJ or 4Runner. It's a shame they do not make them anymore.

There is a 1st gen Xterra at my gym - really good condition, probably a 2" lift, chunky Terra Grapplers, a light bar, some other nicks and nacks and it's a five speed.  Very cool 4x4.  It's from the era where Japanese trucks hit the sweet spot between weird and quirky and western mainstream. Great time for Nissan, Toyota and even Mitsubishi.

"Power top is inoperable"

Deal breaker right there.  My Spidey-Senses tell me there's untold amounts of pain and misery lurking within and to run far, FAR away!!!  That, combined with styling by Stevie Wonder and an overall whiff of bottom-feeding Nissanness should be enough to dissuade all but the most ardent masochists from subjecting themselves to this blight on the automotive landscape.  It's not even bad enough to own and drive ironically, like an AMC Pacer.

To be honest, I think I'd rather have one of those!

Quote from: GoCougs on May 25, 2024, 03:29:57 PMHmmm. That 60' time doesn't equate. My lowly cretin-esque SQ5 posts 60' times of 1.76-1.79s (and it's a 12.4s @ 110 performer) and that is with a rather weak (low-ish boost) launch (otherwise I spin and then bog).

That was a run in the rain.  Dry run is likely going to be even better ET and 60'

Looks like a pretty typical 60 ft time for a Model 3 Performance. Here's a thread full of Dragy results and time slips: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/dedicated-m3-1-4-mile-slips-post-your-slips-videos-verified-dragy-gps-etc.288163/
