2008 G8 GT. It's not as sexy as The Vette but I found it pretty cheap and in the exact color combo I wanted!

The dealer gave me 500 buck off because of a small crack in the front lip and another grand (I told him it would have to be imported from Australia ;) ) off because the rear spoiler was missing. They're 100 bucks on Ebay. :evildude:

Why are you getting rid of the Vette?!
A Friend offered me 5 grand more than I payed for it. And Imma need a car that I won't mind driving in the winter because I passing the Toyota on to my daughter. I'll probably pick up a C7 in the next couple years!

Maybe not. Someone at Jalopnik said they saw and un camoed car at GM. They used that info, then used it to render/draw what they think a ZR1 model might look like.

Hey, now. A CTS would've been equally as awesome.
I've been driving its Aussie cousin - the Holden Sportwagon in SV6 guise. There's a plethora of different models available here, starting with the cooking 3.0 models, going up through the mildly heated up SV6 with its 3.6 litre engine and then (not in the rental fleets) the 6.0 litre SS models which would have been really cool to get. And then there are the HSV cars. Until a couple of months ago the Commodore range was the best selling car in Australia (it has now lost out to the Mazda 3!).
I liked the Sportwagon - 'twas a good rental device, far more interesting than a Camry! Shame about the vast numbers of speed cameras here which prevent you from enjoying it too much!

Blue/violet is 12k. The 8k-10k kits are lite to dark blue. Mine have just a hint of blue. The 4500 that I had in the Vette weren't much better than regular halogen IMHO!

The pipe is perforated inside the casing and there is stainless steel wool between the perforated pipe and the casing. After two years they were much louder than the day they were installed.

I wouldn't put the Holden emblems on it. You'd still have a Pontiac arrowhead on the steering wheel.
True but most people aren't close enough to see it. I'm also thinking about doing a black roof. Soom of the guys on the G8 forums have done theirs with gloss black vinyl wrap.

The new rotors are going on today so I decided to replace the front pads also. NO ONE has the front pads in stock. The only set I could find was an EBC Red Stuff set at Summit Racing. I thought they were priced high at 97 bucks until the Chevy dealer quoted me $200 for a OEM set.....
I'm sure the G8 shares a lot of parts with the Caprice, maybe not brakes or suspension stuff since the Caprice is a cop car. Body parts might end up being your biggest problem.

I debadged the car yesterday. But I didn't take the front pontiac arrow off because it has to guide holes behind it.
Rotors and Pads are on. But the front end shimmy that I thought was warped rotors is actually a bad lower control arm (They guys on the G8 forum says they are notorious for this) and It'll have to go to the shop. Thank goodness I got the extended warranty!!!!

The Camaro wheels are fantastic. In looking at getting upgraded OEM wheels for the G37, I was absolutely shocked how expensive they are. I for sure thought they'd be no more than a moderate quality aftermarket rim - ~$150/ea. Oh, no - we're talking ~$600 new from Infiniti. They can be had "good-as-new" refurbished for ~$300/ea from various online dealers but until I see such a thing they're probably just used. Ebay has a lot of 'em used and they're also averaging ~$300/ea.
Damn those Camaro wheels looks really good.
Also, many Infiniti rims are made by Ray's. A high end after market company.
Ooooohhhh.... Camaro rims look awesome.

DUDE - I HATE chattering/noisy wipers. How is it auto makers still can't get this right? I've noticed that a weekly cleaning of the windshield (REAL cleaning, as in using jeweler's cutting compound or the like helps but still not perfect).
Try a different brand of wiper? That's about all you can do.

Evil/pissing Calvin: for people who don't get Calvin and Hobbes.
That was a great comic strip........
Still my favorite.
The creator of calvin and hobbs is extremely particular about his strip. Thats why you never see any calvin/hobbs merchandise like stuffed animals. The evil calvin pissing is totally lame and not at all authorized by the creator. Its like the scrotums hanging out the back of the some bumpers. Crass. (Once you have kids your opinion changes of what is acceptable for public viewing). The fwd sucks sticker is awesome though.

Do you think Watterson would've liked PrayingCalvin instead?
I love Calvin and Hobbes so much.

No, although I don't think he'd object quite so loudly.
Both of them are ridiculous in their own ways.
wikipedia: The strip's immense popularity has led to the appearance of various counterfeit items such as window decals and T-shirts that often feature crude humor, binge drinking and other themes that are not found in Watterson's work.[25] Images from one strip in which Calvin and Hobbes dance to loud music at night were commonly used for copyright violations.[26] After threat of a lawsuit alleging infringement of copyright and trademark, some sticker makers replaced Calvin with a different boy, while other makers made no changes.[27] Watterson wryly commented, "I clearly miscalculated how popular it would be to show Calvin urinating on a Ford logo."[19]
i just think the "calvin pissing" is meant to be funny but its totally crass. I don't personally take offense at it. I'm not a very socially conservative person either. Sometimes crass is hilarious. Like good movie dialogue. Or a good joke. It's the context. Vulgar doesn't work for me as decoration on a car. Like hanging ball sacs or guillotined stuffed animals hanging out of trunks or pick-up truck tail-gates.
My average last week headed to the cabin. 350 miles one way. Not bad for a 6 liter V8!

Another awesome comic strip.
Gary Larson went to WSU!
Finally got those chattering wipers fixed! GM sells a revised blade and it solved the problem!!! :partyon:
2 year update! Installed new sway bar links and tires last Saturday. Last Friday the ABS/TC light came one. Computer throws code C0040 (right front sensor) which means the hub has to be replaced. :banghead:
Does hub = entire knuckle too or is GM somewhat merciful?

I'm not sure.
The hub/sensor is sold seperate from the knuckle. Found a new one on Ebay for 85 bucks.......
I got the Hubs ordered (I picked up two so I can replace the drivers side while I have the car torn apart) AND Lower Control Arms for the second EFFING time! :rage:
Bro just cuz they're called speed bumps don't mean you're supposed to take them at full speed...

 This is the last time I'm replacing them!!!!!
As a fan of the G8, whats up with the control arms needing replacement, let alone more than once?
They are a known weak link! And from the post I've read on the G8 boards I'm not the only person that has gone through more than one set. I should have went aftermarket the first time I replaced them!
I got both hubs and Lower control arms installed! And I figured out why I needed Lowers again so soon....... THE ASSHOLE THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO INSTALL THE UPPERS AND LOWERS 18 MONTHS AGO NEVER REPLACED THE LOWERS!!!! Even tho I supplied him all 4 control arms he only changed the uppers! The lowers were still the factory (non greasable) pieces!!! :heated: :heated:
LOL so he just threw away the new lowers?
I guess! Fucking asshole!
UGH! Gotta a cracked windshield!
Traded in!!!!
what color is the camaro?
:nono:
SS?
What is it?!
Maybe a nice CTS that Cadillac was having trouble giving away?
I'm hoping for a Camaro SS but I'll take an SS or CTS-Vsport ;).
Better start with an S and end with an R, if ya get my drift ;)
