Looks like a vast improvement over the last one but dear god why did they fuck up the front end like that.
Not loving the big chrome unibrow, and the tail lamps could be a little cleaner, but I like the overall shape.
What a fucking mess.
What did it leak? Blinker fluid?
Yikes.
It looks nice, but it looks really, really big.
Like, Honda should introduce the Grace/City as a Fit sedan because this car is so big
Also, it looks like it's now a hatchback?
I thought it might be a liftback, but looking at the trunk lines, it's definitely got a traditional trunk. Similar to the new Mustang.
Seriously, this thing looks TSX large.
Yeah it looks giant. The entire front end looks fugly as shit too. Damn pedestrian regs.

I was thinking Maxima... which is equally atrocious.
The wheel to body ratio looks off, especially in the rear.

I wonder if we can just kill it with fire? Maybe then they will revert to 1988 when Civics actually looked relatively good.
I like the front end and the proportions of the front, I think it's generally good looking. It just looks so damn big
I'm really surprised you guys hate it; most of the Internet loves it. It's got elements I like, and I think it beats the brakes off the current car.

I like it more than the current car but that grille kills it for me and the front end looks odd.

I think it looks decent. Hard to judge size IMHO, but I assume it will be slightly larger than the previous gen (like most cars). I would be surprised if it is a huge step up in size.

Just read there's a Fit sedan coming, so the Civic grew to accommodate it in the lineup. Saw a pic of the Fit sedan... much nicer looking than this Civic.
Really? I think the Honda City (fit sedan) looks really mediocre. Looks like a current Civic with stumpy proportions
Will we get powertrain information next week? I'm really interested in seeing what the Si variant looks like.
Looks big to be a Civic.

My car is the same size inside as my old Accords. These are the new midsizers.
Problem with the design is too much metal to wheel. Shoulderline is too high, and wheelwells are too small, which is exacerbated by its short length. It just looks bad. Current Civic looks awesome by comparison.

Mid 90s (and earlier) Accords were technically compacts by EPA size standards. They didn't become midsize until the 6th generation in '98.
It's alright. Wheels look small.
That grille is fucking awful. But other than that, I kind of like it.

They were pretty narrow. 4 seaters (though I did comfortably fit 5 on a road trip). 98 had a lot more leg room too. But my Civic's back seat is comfy for 2 average size adults.

It's just an optional delusion.
I like the proportions. Details are 'meh'. Trunk opening looks like it'll be small.
I'm not sure how it's a disaster, but it's overall good

Great interior
I'm very eagerly awaiting info on the new Si, but once again, the redesigned Civic makes the ILX obsolete.
I am going to have to see what they do with it in Si trim. Not looking good now. GTI, MS3 and the surprisingly cheap Focus RS look like much better buys
Not diggin the rear 3/4 profile with that long raking roof. It does seem to have some nice RWDish proportions, though. Interior does look nice.
Interior is a huge improvement, I'll give it that.

Wow.
Well done Honda. That interior is amazing. Even the official rear shot looks great. Supposedly it's lighter, too. Really want to see what the Si is all about.
I like the trend towards simpler, more elegant interiors. Mazda has been leading the way in this for mainstreamers.
As for the exterior, I can't get the Maxima out of my mind... overwrought, heavy, and generally awkward looking.
So, I've heard this car is a cut-down Accord.
I think Honda is just going to have two platforms; small (Fit) and Large (Accord).

Hmm... V6 swap into Civic? :partyon:
Looks great. I like this interior so much more than the current car's
The interior is nice. Very Ford.
Definitely like this interior better than the tiered setup on the current car. A minor nit, but I'm not a fan of the semi-circular tach. Reminds me too much of the instrument panel in the Chrysler Pacifica.
I like it a lot. Bring on the Si!

Trunk size is probably as large as the current car. The opening will just be too small to take full advantage.

Drove the 2016 Civic non-turbo on Wednesday, and was pretty impressed. Driving dynamics and quality are greatly improved, and the styling is pretty sharp from the side and rear. The front -- to me -- looks a little small and weak in comparison, and I really don't like all the black plastic all over it. But I liked it a lot overall.

I think it has high showroom factor. It has a nice interior and can probably sell on that alone. Agreed though, the exterior is horrible and I'm not a fan of its kind of tweener size. It has a midsize body with economy size wheel wells. So. Much. Sheetmetal.
They're clearly trying to make room for a Fit sedan (which exists)

Agreed
I like it. :mask:
It's not terrible. The drop off on the front looks very 3-series from the side. Other than that it looks like a shrunken Accord Crosstour, except somehow more appealing. The butt looks too big though.
Is it a coupe or a hatchback? I shouldn't have to ask that question. I think I am going to swing by the dealer this weekend to check out the sedan. These things don't photograph well.
I like it and I don't.
The ass is too low and is constructed like someone pinching off a turd. The rear cluster is kinda neat, but both in pictures and person (sedan) it looks too low and big.
That C pillar is frustrating and just makes the car look wonky and awkward.
I can't tell if the wheelbase is too long or too short.
I fucking hate this car

Saw pics of the new Sentra. What the hell is going on with Nissan/Honda/Toyota design.
I saw one of these tonight. Not a huge fan.
I saw a new Civic sedan at the dealership today. Meh. Not horrible, but not great either. But it does look big.
i saw one on the road yesterday on drive-out temporary tags. My main impression too was that it's big - close to, and to all intents & purposes in, Accord territory.
Hoping they make some in non-Crosstour body styles.
And my Civic is firmly in Accord territory, at least interior wise, and for what we think of as Accords. Accords today are actually like Acura Legend size. This has just completed the exterior growth.
When you think about it, it's a lot of car for the $$$. The Civic has cost about the same across all its trims for the last ~20 years, but a 2016 LX sedan is a hell of a lot more car than the tin can from 96. Still though, this thing is big, heavy and ugly.
On a positive note they are going to offer the 1.5T with the stickshift for the 2017MY. It will still be ugly though.
