Luxury Talk / Re: My new car: 2021 Audi SQ5 ...
Last post by GoCougs - June 02, 2024, 12:12:13 AMI got the dyno curves from APR's website, got the revised shift points, and then made the graph.
Stage 3 is generally accepted to be an aftermarket turbo. Zero mods required otherwise for APR's stage 3. True, it doesn't have the power of other stage 3 setups, but thing is no other aftermarket tuner provides a complete stage 3 kit - tune from company X, turbo from company Y, required supporting mods (usually a new fuel pump) from company Z. It's a major PITA, plus your vehicle will not be smog legal and the exhaust will stink to high heaven without the factory cat.

Last post by CaminoRacer - June 01, 2024, 12:11:31 PMThe base 1LT is launching later this year for like $35k, which is $28k after tax credit. Will they actually be available to buy in any sort of volume? Who knows.
I think the Blazer is the one that won't sell well, due to the size similarity and its higher price.

Last post by SJ_GTI - June 01, 2024, 09:49:43 AMBolts big selling point and niche was its price. This Equinox is in no way a replacement for the Bolt. Its slightly larger than the Model Y, Mach-E, ID.4, and similarly priced EV CUV's and in some cases it will be a little cheaper when they are apples to apples in battery size and AWD.
I suspect this will either be a sales dud or will need significant discounting to make it sell in even OK volumes.
If it had been smaller (<185 inches long) and cheaper (under 40k with AWD and nicely equipped) I'd have considered it. When it was announced as a "Bolt Replacement that will offer AWD" that is what I had expected. They way overshot on price IMHO and it is only slightly (~2 inches) shorter than the Chevy Blazer EV.

The Bolt did well and this is better than the Bolt
Bolt doesn't compete in price with Tesla though.
