Ah, the uselessness of non-standardized testing. No one has the slightest idea whether another car would have fared better or worse.

If it would have crumpled up, it would cause some seriously bad publicity. Because it held up rather well, it caused good publicity. It's not "useless".

Hmm, focused, localized impact applied to one of the weakest points on the car.  Unless it's got a roll cage, any car will look that bad (or worse).

It might be useful for Ford PR, but it is quite useless for an objective observer.

Look at the size of the gumball machine on the top of the police cruiser.  I haven't seen a light like that in years.

That was my first thought too.  And 100 lbs deer who aren't traveling at 75 mph do a lot more damage then that when they hit a car.
