Given the choice, I'd take a first generation (P10) G20 with leather, sunroof and a manual gearbox.  I'd rather walk than drive a Sentra.

No, not the same thing at all.

The B14 Sentra/200SX (AKA Nissan Sunny/Lucino) was in no way related to the P10 Nissan Primera/Infiniti G20.  They were two totally different cars built on different platforms.   In no way, shape or form are they "twins" of any kind.  The very premise of this thread is based on a false misconception.

I always thought the G20 was more closely related to the 1st-gen Altima, rather than the Sentra; in kind of a Mondeo vs. Fusion sort of way.

Except the current Mondeo and Fusion aren't really all that closely related.  The current Mondeo is on the EUCD platform, which is actually related to the C1 compact platform (shares a fair number of suspension parts).  The Fusion is on the CD3 platform, which was based on the Mazda GG platform.

The MkI Altima was essentially a U13 Bluebird (an evolution of the U12 Bluebird/Stanza).  The P10 Primera was built to replace the Bluebird in the European market and was built specifically with Europe in mind.  So while the two cars filled the same market segment, they weren't really related.

They share the same engine, and are of similar size.


That's why they're "twins" for the sake of this thread.

I def prefer the G20

Better looking, better appointed, more refined. Legitimate car w/the SR20VE or DET. Sentras, while decent enough, have a toyish feel by comparison.

The Primera/G20 was actually a bit larger than the Sentra.  It was similar in size to the original Altima.
