Successor to the Lupo?

Replaces the Fox, so sort of a "successor", but VW always had an entry into that segment.

I think the retro, faux-steelies make the car look super awesome.

Yeah the wheels are so nice I like them more than the "upscale" ones on the red.

There may be a 5-door, too.

This platform will also house the next SEAT Arosa, and Skoda Joyster.

Successor to the Lupo?

The Fox was the successor to the Lupo.  The "up!" is sure to replace the Fox.

Personally, I feel this is a much better spiritual successor to the original Beetle than that silly rounded-off Golf.

I've never seen a Chrysler press release say 'Firepower!', with the exclamation point. I think it was a bunch of automotive journalist BS. The car itself had 'Firepower' (no !) on it.

On the other hand this piece of crap really does have an exclamation point on it.

Another tiny, utilitarian car... I actually think the styling is almost cute, and the black one with the wheels from the red one would be pretty sharp, but the stupid name, interior, and colors spelled out on the side kill off the appeal for me. Short, unusual car names with an exclamation point also seem like you're supposed to yell them.

Seriously, are you guys nitpicking over an exclamation point!?

The concept had an exclamation point, too, and nearly everyone liked that. This stayed very close.

Because it's a cute, minimalist small car that looks very chic and that nearly everyone can afford.

It's relatively cute, but the minimalist nature, ridiculous probably youth-oriented branding, and the cheap looking interior leave it as an unappealing little box in my opinion. I didn't like the concept and I don't like this, but I generally don't like these kinds of cars anyway so it's not a big surprise, just as it's not a surprise you seem to like it. The (repeated) lesson is that just because it's cheap and you think it's cute doesn't mean it's going to be well-received by everyone else.

Surely you can appreciate it from a design and engineering standpoint. It's hard enough designing a car; try designing one that has to fit far more design constraints than something like a full-size luxury car while keeping an adequate balance between quality and price.

I like the fact that companies design cars like this more than I like the cars themselves.
