What options would have you running to the dealer?

New Xterra with a better interior, automatic transmission with more gears and a gated shifter, engine with better gas mileage (less power OK), and longer cargo area with the seats folded flat. And maybe better/modern headlights.

Any minivan with reasonable off-pavement cred (clearance, sturdy suspension, can fit AT tires, actual 4WD or really good AWD).

Those were crappy inside, though, right?

If you're looking for a decent interior, I'd just stay away from pretty much any Subaru made before 2014 or so... Those '03-'09's had a ton of silver plastic everywhere.

Ooooo that's a good one.

Seems like I'm not the only one that wants a modern Outback XT either.

I'm probably going to rage buy one in the next year.

Decent, but Magnums were cooler. A new one with the current Charger styling would be awesome.

Trackhawk is pretty sweet but Jesus, at $90k, it's simply not worth it.

The 05-09 Outback XT?  No the Limited trims are actually pretty nice, and could be had with one of these for all 5 years

Mos def - Subaru Outback XT Limited is fairly plush/desirable (interior and otherwise) some ~10 years on, and the package in general is MEGA. Big fan.

68_427

There's actually 10 '08-'09 Outback XT Limited manuals for sale on cargurus right now for Raza to try out.

Modern take on a VW minivan under $40,000 with manual transmission and modern car crash test results.  It's gotta look similar to the original one though.  Maybe a bit larger.

Raza hates Japan so that's not going to happen.

For what it is it seems like a pretty solid deal. Can you imagine how much it would be from teh Germans?

Poser class sedan w/NA V8, AWD and 6MT.

That reminds me, I saw a B7 RS4 the other day for the first time in a while. Those things still look fantastic.

Hm, a WRX STI wagon or hatch would be really nice. Or, as others have said, a BMW 2-series sedan.

My GF has an RDX with that turbo-4. I do not think it is a good motor. It guzzles gas and has serious turbo lag. I don't know how much her car weighs, but the thing isn't terribly quick either. All in all, I'm very eh on that RDX.

A couple other thoughts:

-6spd IS350
-NSX without the AWD/electric motors powered by just the TTV6
-718 with the 911's 3.0.

When I was looking to replace my '51 Mercury, I was really excited about a Golden Hawk that was advertised on a dealer's lot.  I went there and it was a Flight Hawk that was painted gold.  I'd never go running to any dealer after that :frown:.
