This took a lot of time, work, sweat, and tears, but I finally completed my latest mod. The Stubby antenna!

AM reception may suffer. You may not care, though.

This tune kit might open up the ND1 engine a bit more like the ND2.

Increased RPM would be nice for autocross, I keep hitting the rev limiter a lot in 2nd gear and it's usually not faster to shift to 3rd. Getting a couple more MPH in 2nd is the best option. But unfortunately tunes aren't allowed in C Street.

The ND2 engine is substantially different than the ND1.  I am very skeptical of any $500 flash that claims to close this gap in any meaningful way.

Similar numbers but done differently? That's why I'd like to see some third party verification.

You think Mazda would change: throttle body, intake valves, exhaust valves, intake manifold, camshafts, exhaust manifold, muffler, pistons, wrist pins, rod bolts, crankshaft counter balances, combustion chamber shape, fuel injection strategy, throttle control, and flywheel

And validate all of that...when a $500 flash would net them close to the same benefits?

It has good reviews from everyone I've seen. But I don't actually care about the benefits other than the increased rev limiter. I hit the limiter too much in autocross and it costs me a lot of time
1969 El Camino, 2017 Bolt EV, 2021 Tesla Model 3 Performance

CaminoRacer

It seems like the main benefits are the higher rev limiter and more aggressive timing advance.
It won't increase HP from 155 to 181 like the ND2 but supposedly the engine is happier to rev than the stock ND1, thus it feels more like the ND2.

Why would reception in the morning be any worse than afternoon?

I rev my El Camino to 6500 rpm, the Skyactiv should handle 7500 no problem

Morning should be better if there is a good temperature inversion. I assume.

My dad and i drove newspapers at 6am in Wyoming, listening to "Bruce" in California answering any questions.
#1 always get a lawyer for a house purchase  (I didn't :mask: but everyone calling in with house issues wouldn't have had the issues had they done it)
#2 it's usually cheaper to consult a pro the first time rather than after you messed up

I recommend Armstrong and Getty. Best AM talk show on AM radio.

The car says I got 41 mpg on a 87 mile drive tonight. Pretty good for an autocross car.

Hit 100 mph earlier today. I did not look at the mpg then

I installed the Paco Motorsports seat bracket on the driver's side. Drops the seat like 1 to 1.5 inches, so I fit more comfortably. You just lose the seat sliders, but I don't care about that since I'm the only one who drives the car. I can swap the sliders back on if I ever want to sell it.

Pic. You can see the difference between the drivers and passenger seat height compared to the roll hoops

No.

So I will have to duck if I flip the car.

Interesting. At my height I've never had to worry about overall seat height relative to my height. I do like sitting as low as possible though. On every car I've ever owned I put it a slow as the settings allow.

Nice!

I am 5'9", I keep the seat one click from the rear and reclined as much as possible and am always comfy. I imagine taller people never slide it forward!

I have a 3" thick sub woofer under the passenger side, leaned up against the firewall under the mat. Wife is short so doesn't bother her, never had anyone else in the car long time periods.

I almost "locked" myself out of the fuel filler, with only 1/4 tank of gas left. :mask:

I bent the tab at the end of the fuel door to get a tighter fit on the latch. The fuel door was rattling really loudly at stop lights because it was too loose. But I bent the tab a bit too far, which meant that I could close the door but then it hooked onto the latch too much and wouldn't pop open again. A little screwdriver and a gentle touch (don't scratch the paint!) got it to pop open again, luckily. I bent the tab back slightly and now it's a good fit & fixed the rattle. :praise:

So I tried to get everything on the Odyssey I sold ($500) to ex for my kids to drive up to snuff. But they replaced the brakes and said there was some issue with the steering they paid a ton of money for. Then my son had heart surgery and it sat awhile. I stopped by after the surgery (june) and they said the gas door doesn't stay latched- I carefully bent the tab on the door bit by bit so it would stay closed. They thought I was a genius

I hate latched fuel fillers.  The number of times I've had one get frozen shut with ice...
