You're lugging it!

You're going to burn up the bearings.

Bearings? More like just burn the trans fluid, but it's already black. How much more could it possibly burn?

The 'sc0rt will still be around for a while, I hope. There will be plenty of 'sc0rt talk. :evildude:

BTW, the 'sc0rt seems to have a problem downshifting from 3rd gear. As in, I floor it from a stop, and it takes off in 3rd gear. Not even a Suzuki Samurai can beat that for slowness.

Just manual shift it then.

This is outstanding news, Mr. Car!

Of all the cars recently purchased by Spinsters, I am sincerely hoping this one turns out to be a real find. The best of luck to you.

But it's fun when I floor it and it makes all kinda noise but it doesn't hardly move because it's stuck in 3rd.

Unless you're Mercedes, and then you just put them in hilariously and completely unnecessarily complicated contractions that involve pressing a button and it unfolding out of the dash (E-Class, I love that cupholder for the passenger side).

That's exactly what I mean.  They don't pay attention to them, they just make them collapsible and shove them wherever they'll fit.  My E class had a hidden, retracting and swinging cupholder that couldn't really hold anything larger than a can.  The swinging one could hold a very tippy small bottle.  The Boxster's cupholder is a joke; it's just there to say they have one.  I thought the Passat's cupholder was huge; by German standards it is, but many other cars have cupholders that have more volume than my center console storage.  And then the ridiculous amount of cupholders.  A Mazda MX-5 has a cupholder for every cylinder, but only two seats!  What do two passengers need four cupholders for!?

My car has a pull out in the center console that I didn't even know was there for the first two months I owned the car.  It had two cupholders and it works very well, holding just about anything.  Yet, in the general nature of Subaru where you must be able to beat the hell out of anything, they thought it was too flimsy and replaced two cupholders with just one in the 1998 redesign.  It's the same concept, but I don't like the newer design.

hehe, thats what I used to do in the Legacy.  If I had the charger plugged in, then the iPod would stay wedged in the cupholder, and 'cause it was so close to the radio, I rarely had to find a new station for the FM transmitter.

I don't know... wasn't there a minivan that advertised 11 cupholders a few years back or something equally ridiculous? I don't think any vehicle I've owned has had more cupholders than seats. Well, a suburban might have, but I was never in the back row of seats, so I'm not sure how many they had back there.

Mine don't block the radio.  They just block the vents and the HVAC controls.  The shifter gets in the way of the radio a little, but if I really wanted I could fix it.  All of the bins and holders in the center console are DIN sized, to it makes moving things around really easy.

I will guarantee you a place to stay for free if you make it.  That is a promise.  I might have to make one of the youngins sleep in their car, but it you have a sleeping bag, I will find you a couch.

We'll see what happens...the only thing is my wife might want to come along, so we'd just get a hotel if so.  But it would be easier if not.

If I recall correctly, the MX-5 has two cupholders between the seats, and one in each door.  The door ones are ridiculous.

I drive a lot of the time with my left leg resting on the door.  I couldn't imagine my Mega Gulp freezing my leg while I'm driving, but the MX-5's door cupholders are bigger than the other ones.
