TheIntrepid

So I put my EVIC/OTIS in yesterday.

EVIC = Electronic Vehicle Information Centre
OTIS = Overhead Trip Information System

I scored it for $20 out of a 300M in the junkyard, along with the auto-dim rear-view mirror

A before shot:

Before the thing was put in:

After shot, sorry it's in the garage from my cell phone

Features it has:
-Compass
-Outside temperature
-Cruising range (km until empty
-Trip time (avg spead etc)
-HomeLink (which I can't get programmed for the life of me, and I did it fine in the Camry)
-Instant MPG guage
-Slightly better sunroof switches than I previously had

That's nice. So it just plugs right in there and works?

Nope. We had to go get more wiring, steal some unneeded fuses out of Ciprian's mom's Silhouette van, and as I said, rip apart the A-Pillar and cut a fitting hole in the headliner.

It's really cool now that it's hooked up though.

BTW I forgot to add that it doesn't look like a hole was cut or that it's an aftermarket job. It looks completely like it's meant to be. After I clean out the car eventually I'll take some better pics. The colour also matches up perfectly.

That's the key really.   Modifications are fine, so long as no one can tell it was an add-on.

Kind of overly aggresive rear tires for a FWD car... just one mans opinion.

Thanks for the tread hijack, Sean :ohyeah:

I didn't mean to. Maybe the first time, but not the second time.

I was just trying to point out that sometimes obvious mods are awesome too. Not every mod needs to look stock. Not the best case of that I guess.

Anyway, good work with your compass and thermometer.

Electrical mods are what I had in mind.  Sorry, I spent 3 hours repairing a damaged wiring harness due to somebody's hackjob wiring, that kinda got my mind rolling on the whole thing.

I can't get my fucking Homelink programmed for the life of me.

I had a tough time with that as well this evening, but eventually I won, as always.

If it's anything like mine, you have to hold down a certain pair of buttons on the homelink face to activate the learn mode so that you can sync it with your normal transmitter.  Then, you have to reach up to the motor on the garage door opener and press the Learn button (press and release), then run to your car before 30 seconds expires and push/hold the homelink button that you synced until the lights on your garage door motor flash.

Good luck with it.

There are some rolling-code door openers that don't work with some Homelink systems.

Which pair? Outer two? aka 1 and 3?

yeah. It's a fleet model since it's my dad's ex company car but it still has all the wiring. It was just missing a bunch of shit that it has now. It's a full out Intrepid ES-M now.

Couple reasons. Some sources rate it at 252, some at 250. Also, the Daytona package exhaust supposedly adds more horsepower. Dealer told us when we got it it was 17 hp, but I got shit from you guys when I listed it as 267hp, so I just left that up.

17 hp off an exhaust? He definitely didn't know what he was talking about. Maybe 2-3 hp.
