Ok:

Classic vs Modern!

sandertheshark

Classic vs. Modern what?

Pickup truck? Modern, please.

Ferrari?  Classic, of course.

Daily driver?  How about as modern as possible while remaining fun and stylish?

Classic and Modern are also two periods of Western History.

Depending on price, that could be a good deal.

GC STi Impreza vs. GH STI?  I'm still going to have to go with the GC.
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

She'll hate diesel passenger cars, all things Ford, and fiat currency.  They will masturbate to old interviews of Ayn Rand an youtube together.

I love a lot of classic cars, and I love a lot of modern cars.  It's a tossup.

Modern. Classic does nothing for me.

Maybe when I get much older I'll go for classic.  The most classic cars that were in my lifetime were in the 80s, and they pretty much sucked.

Maybe when I'm 75, I'll be thinking about the good old days of Mclaren F1's and how it was the last beautiful hypercar made.

Thank you, so much.

hehe that thread should be resurrected every December as part of our holiday festivities :praise:

if you base your opinion of classic cars on '80s stuff...

And they don't have to be stock, either...

I've never understood the allure of the 55-57 chevy, nor am I a big fan of hotrods.

Looks wise I do prefer cars from earlier than 1975 to most of what is being made today.  Back then at least one could look at a car and tell what it was without looking at the emblems.  However when it comes to utility, reliability and efficiency there is no replacement for a modern car.

I think that's a load of crap. I hear that a lot from disgruntled old farts. :ohyeah:

1932 Ford vs. 1932 Chevy

1956 Ford vs. 1956 Chevy

Don't get me wrong, I do apprecitate older designs, but cars from the past were not all that unique from one another.

Thank you. I've been pointing that out for years, using very similar examples.

It was easier to tell the years of some models apart.Like the Impalas of the early 1960s,they changed every year.

I'll use two of my favorite Citroens.  The DS23 Pallas and the new C6.  They're both awesome vehicles, but the DS is just so much cooler.

.......The DS23 Pallas is a Trim Level. Personally, I like the DS/ID Break better.

I know it's a trim level.  I'm just using it as an example.

Classic.  I win.  :praise:

Then again, there is so much art in modern forms as well.

Then again, there are such stunning old world automobiles too!

But what about that sensual, glorious modern car they call the F1.

But, how could I forget my all time favorite car of old, the 300SL

A car need not be a certain vintage or a certain nationality, it simply needs to be of a quality that makes it adored by all, or perhaps adored my half, and hated by the rest.  No one age produced "the era of beautiful cars"  every age had it's own idea of what a beautiful car would be.

Except for perhaps the 80's, where everything was ugly and sucky.

JESUS people it was a JOKE!

Somehow I knew you would be a debbie downer and come in here and post pictures of the 288 GTO and the F40!

I mean, do you honestly think I would spend time getting pictures of those cars and writing a somewhat sophisticated comment on how cars from any era can be beautiful, and say that seriously?

Damn... I need some gin.  :praise:
