I don't think he was a troll anymore than I am for old Z's.

Hell, by the late 70's, my car was already outclassed by rivals like the 924 and the RX-7, but I still love it and think it's about the best car in the world.

Subarus are interesting to most folks, unlike Trep's trolling for Intrepids.
Uh, I don't see you trolling about Z's at all...
And everything I stated in that "calling out" post was true. And I wasn't the only one who started to get annoyed with his trolling...
I like Subarus too but it gets boring if that's the only thing you hear about from that one person.

Before Rags posted that comment Teuton said he intended to leave. It's obvious there was something else bothering him, so don't blame Rags for busting someone's balls in Chat. Isn't that what it and ARBT are for?

(And that post was really, really tame, IMO)

Depending on price, that could be a good deal.

I think it was because we were also arguing with him in the Garage (not even arguing really). We didn't even insult him or anything, just said that his car couldn't keep up with MrH's P5. He knew he was losing and that's why he didn't want to "continue the debate" and wanted to leave the forum.

And I didn't even insult him in my post either. Everything I said was dead true and he knew it.

Frankly, I don't even see what's the matter. He left because of nothing. It's not my fault or problem. I don't see how I'm the asshole here.

Laconian, should I also leave because you insulted me and called me an asshole?

And for what it's worth, I think Teuton's a nice guy. He's just so damn competitive about everything. That's his problem, not mine, but it did end up pissing me off.

I'm extending the deadline until Friday at midnight.  I just don't have the time to deal with this right now, so you all have time to get your lists in.

Can we get this sorted out now that Teuton is back?

Or did Raza set fire to our lists just to fuck with us?

the Teuton

I have a copy of the original spreadsheet with 3 people's lists on it.  I need moar.
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

Anyways, I second the vote for the Rio. It's a timeless classic that has influenced many a design.

Can't say I care much for the Brera and though the GranTourismo is a good looking car I think other contemporary Maseratis look better.

So the 73 Buick Riviera is #86 but the 63 model, generally considered a timeless classic, is no where on the list?

Is that...a rip-off of the Corvette rear window, or what.

Very similar to the 63-67 Corvette.  Funny how at the time the 73 Buick was considered pretty ugly. and in the 60's people preferred the one piece glass of the 64-67 Corvettes to the two piece window in the 63.

giant_mtb

It's all about context.  Yeah, it looks silly and dumb on a Buick.  It looks good on a Corvette.  Plus the fact that it was a Corvette thing before it was a Buick thing just makes the Buick all that much worse.  Why would they abominate that design feature of the Corvette like that?

Oh well.  I wasn't even alive.  Doesn't matter to me.

Because it looks so much better!

That boattail isn't all that similar to the Corvette's split window, and the Riviera is just such a wonderful looking car.  I came across the car back in the mid 90s when I first saw it in Due South.  That's when I first fell for it.

(And yes, I nominated it for the list)

Different strokes and all that.  I really hate to see true classics modified like that.  But they are not my cars and the owners are of course free to do as they wish.
