I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

It actually drives a lot like the 135i except bulbous, definitely heftier, and with bad visibility.  I didn't hate driving the X6 at all.

It was more engaging than the X5, and I liked the X5.

If this Progressive Analbeads Sedan was to be released as the Ssangyong X6 xDrive50iM, I wouldn't be at all surprised.

I'd rather them just make an M7. It would be less pointless than this turd.

I thought BMW said no M cars without manuals available.  That's why they never made an M7 or M8.

The M8 could have and should have happened.

That's true, but I'd be surprised if this had a manual.

That sounds familiar to me, too. Then again, the E60 M5 was only ever meant to have that SMG III doohickey, and any transmission that can assume a fully-automatic mode seems like a dubious candidate for the Manuals Only club.

Just so we're clear--it's cool if Mercedes releases a G55 or ML55 AMG, but it's absolute heresy for BMW to do the same with their SUVs?

Alright. Carry on...

Tut tut. A G55 is demonstrably awesome - it is, in effect, a supercharged V8 air-raid shelter. An X6 xDrive50iM, on the other hand, is a turbocharged bidet, which looks like a broken toilet, is likely to cause great pain, and is entirely unnecessary if you've a flexible wrist and a reliable brand of toilet paper.

The X6 is not ugly. Pointless, irrelevant, superfluous, unnecessary, self-gratifying, insulting, chintzy, crass, uncultured, rude--perhaps.

Ugly it is not.

Alright. Carry on...

M-B bills the AMG division as high-powered autobahn beasts; while the overall driving experience is enhanced, the emphasis is obviously under the hood. Pretty much a modern-day German muscle car.

BMW bills their M division more as track performers with a stronger emphasis on handling, which contradicts giving the M treatment to an SUV, and the reason they didn't give it to a flagship luxury sedan. So it's pretty much according to BMW's own product strategy that this criticism comes from.

Not ugly, but ungainly and superfluous, which is what I was trying to get at. Chintzy, however, is a delightful quality reserved for only the very best of Detroit's crushed velvet-clad, fake wood-panelled land yachts taking up thousands of square feet and squashing passengers together all at the same time.
