So I'm sitting here in a Mazda dealer and I came in with me researched numbers and their initial numbers beat my starting numbers by $1000!  WTF!  That's never happened before.  I'll post more later....

Here's some pics guys.   Even got a Thule rack installed this morning.  Took a little time as I trimmed the load bars so they don't overhang.

CX-9 or CX-7 to replace the Sequoia?

Please tell me it's an RX-8 or Miata instead though.  :praise:  It's in "The Big Guys" though...raised Miata?

CX9 Touring. Toyota was brutal on both the price on the new one and the trade.  Much more reasonable over here.  The Toyota had a little more punch but this one drives better and more room.

They got my sales guy running between three customers LOL. Seems to have worked to my advantage.  Plus, its an 09 and last day of the month.

Wait, what happened to the Xterra?

CX9 > Xterra in any way other than offroad, IMO.  As much as I love the Xterra.

CX9?  I was at the dealer with my friend earlier this year.. we were able to get 10k off sticker price!!!   But that was with a fully loaded CX with Navi and everything else.  And the manufacturer's financing.  He still didn't get the car though.

My wife really wanted 3rd row seating.  Out the door price is $30,490.  Sticker was $36,200.  Just going to bring my wife by to make sure she likes it too.

See if you can get it down for more.  The sticker on the car we were looking at was 38k ish I think and the dealer was willing to come down to 28kish.

I tried and got another $500.  I checked the net and I am right at TMV, which right now is about $3000 under invoice.  I think that's a pretty good price.

Catman

Target price on carsdirect.com is $30,070 and I am right there.  Got the exact color and options I wanted so I am not complaining.

I have a local dealer selling a similar CX-9 ($36,945) for $29,635.

There's always going to be examples of better deals.  One could drive themselves crazy about it.  Overall, I think I did well.

Most definitely.

It may also be a regional thing.

I was at a local Nissan dealer yesterday and we were talking about a Pathfinder.  I wasn't overly enamored with it.  Seemed stuck between gears at 35 mph, very small inside too.  It had about the same equipment as the CX9 here and the sticker was almost $38K?  They came down to the high $33's and that was it.  Considering the prices for larger more luxurious vehicles I couldn't understand it.

I don't remember you testing these but I drove a Highlander, Pathfinder, Pilot and this.  The Pilot was very large with cheap materials inside and drove like a bus.  The Highlander drove nice and had lots of power but the pricing and dealer were brutal.  See above on the Pathfinder.  The CX9 rides more like my Maxima which is a bit firm.  The interior is very sporty and the third row is generous and even has a good amount of storage behind.

Good looking car. Sounds like you are getting it.

CX-9 is a great car. A very good friend has one. Smooth, fast, top-notch quality. Congrats if you get it. Sounds like a good deal.

Oh right, forgot about that.  Man the 3rd row on these midsizers must be tiny.

This will be mine, she drives the Maxima.  Just waiting for her to get home and we'll head down to the dealer.

You'd think but it's actually OK, even for me.  It's not for adults anyway, just for the occasional group of kids.

I've sat in the 3rd row in the CX9, while not roomy, for kids, it's ok.  For adults.. well.. chop your legs off. Unless only one sits back there.

I fit. Comfort is better than, say, the average sporty coupe, if still not great.

After you wake up with the sun at 6am on someone's floor, coughing up cigarette butts and tasting like warm beer, you may well change your opinion on this matter.
