Slowest car you've ever driven?

I thought the Head-to-head was getting clogged up.

What is the slowest car you've ever driven?

Some guidelines, the car has to be legal on every road, including the freeway. No NEV's or LSV's. They need to be able to be able to maintain highway speeds.

Contrary to popular belief, it is not the Swift. Swift is probably #4 or 5, actually.

The #1 spot for a slowest road legal car (running properly) that I have ever driven must go to my 1984(or was it 85?) Suzuki SJ140. This came before the Samurai, although the platform and body was mostly similar. It was AWESOME. I loved taking it out on the trails and just giving it hell.

The 1.0L 4 cyl had a 1bbl side draft carburetor and was rated at 45 hp. This fed through a 4-speed transmission and a typical 2-speed transfer case. Despite the incredibly low gearing, I recall one instance when I tried to climb what must have been a 45? grade, and it just didn't have enough power, even in 1st gear low range! The listed top speed was 68 mph, and I was able to get it up to an indicated 67 mph with one passenger aboard. I drove it on the interstate exactly twice - once to pick it up when I bought it, and once to drop it off when I sold it.

Toss up between a 1990 Silverado and my moms Outback.  The truck felt faster though.

Probably the '70-something Jeep CJ with a 3 speed that my friend had at her farm.

Yup, um, unless an Econoline 15-passenger van is slower, I drove a 1993 Impreza for four years. I miss that car. And yes, I did get it up to 92 mph...and I redlined it before.
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

One of those "K" cars back in the 80's.  Damn that car was slow.

I drive my Saturn up steep roads in 2nd usually. I can't imagine how much more torturous that would be with half the horsepower.

Actually out on public roads, a Vulcan 3.0 powered Ford Ranger would probably be the slowest.

Actually a pretty fun car... it was so light. Driving on a windy day was a real adventure

It was about as slow as my mom's Quest. Ah the memories

Likely my first car, an '88 Novarolla. I don't exactly wring the last drop out of every car I drive, though, so I dunno.

'86 Blazer, I think. I drove a really old F-series once that I couldn't get out of second, but I don't think that counts.

Late model Metro was pretty close too.

Depending on price, that could be a good deal.

And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. Utterly horrid and tepid acceleration. I'd see people running for the bus pass by us.

Dodge 4X4 military ambulance.  Big brown box with no power at all.  It would go anywhere, but ever so slowly.  0-60 time was unknown; I'm not sure it would do 60 and if it did it would beat you to death in the process.  Slow, noisy, vibrated your fillings loose, handled like a pig, but for some reason it was a blast to drive.

Kind of like this one

Runner up would be a 74 Pinto automatic.  So slow it's own shadow tried to pass it.

J86

1974 Jeep CJ.  3 speed, unsynchronized 1st gear.  Entirely original and completely unrestored.  So slow, yet beyond awesome.

3.0L V6

Probably a late '80s/early '90s GMC 3500 chassis cab dually with the 6.2 diesel V8 (~130hp - no turbocharger). Top speed was 120km/h and it struggled to maintain 75km/h going uphill. It was a dog.

Runner up might be an '89 Chevrolet Celebrity with the 2.5L "Iron Duke" 4-banger and 3 speed automatic.
