Maybe compared to a million mile Dodge Dart

Naw. My good friend is selling it because he cant afford it anymore. It only has 70k, and is in near perfect
condition aside from the letters wearing off the radio buttons. I would buy it in a heartbeat if I could afford the payments. It's so sad so see it sit there in his garage. I drove it once. What an amazing machine.

Damn that sucks. I like the 1st gens, they are really nice if you look past the interior. Though, not sure I'd get one over an older M5

The only part of the interior that you have time to notice when you are driving it is the tachometer, which is perfectly nice to look at.

Is it an LS6 or LS2 car?

That, I do not recall. My guess would be LS6.

In Mexico we can only get it in a single configuration which is close to fully loaded including navi, comfort access, headlight assistant, premium sound etc. About the only think missing are heated seats.

I have driven it little so far (about 250 miles) and I am still breaking it in so taking it slightly easy. However this much is clear:

- This car feels much more similar to the E46 M3 than to the E90 M3. It feels as a sports car, civilized but not too much (much less than the E90)
- It packs a big punch down low in the rev range, the exhaust sound is great from the get go, much better than the E90 until the latter gets above 5K RPM.
- Turbo lag is minimal, better than expected but throttle response of course is not as good as in the N/A cars.
- It feels like it wants to bite you any time and get the rears going first (I like that)
- The gearbox, brakes, and steering feel are better than either of the M3s.
- Low speed agility and balance are again, the best of all 3 cars.
- High speed (above 100 MPH) stability is a it less than in the E90.
- The looks IMHO are fantastic, this thing is like a bulldog with its ultra-wide stance.

Pricing here is at 65K which compares very well with the M3 at 90K and the 135i at 50K. 65K wouldn?t even get me into a stripped Boxster/Cayman, so it is basically a no-brainer.

It runs about the same price as a stripped Boxster (not the S model) here.  I think it's a hell of a steal for the price.  I think my only options would be heated seats and satellite radio.  Everything else isn't necessary for me.

Glad to hear you like it.  I may be joining you at some point with a black one :praise:

A week ago I drove extensively a base pre-facelift Boxster (automatic). What a piece of underpowered crap, stellar handling or not.

I'll stick with the Vet pick for a new car. But because so many people have listed used I'll add that list. And it's an easy one for me to do

1993-95 RX-7
2009 RX-8 R3
1990 MX-5

I can and will have all three at the same time for much less then $50K

My cousin's room mate has a 400hp FD spoilerless and stock everything appearance wise.  It sounds nasty at 9500rpm.

Mine would be Grabber Blue.  I don't think it looks good at all in pictures, but now that I've seen a few of them in person, I am amazed at how fucking hot they look in this colour.

The GT500 looks better though:

Even with it, it looks better.

No doubt, the Shelby looks amazing, especially in the flesh.

I'm thinking that with 50k I go for a 2007 STI, a Triumph Street Triple, and some hookers/blow.  Not necessarily in that order.

That sort of blue really is an excellent colour in person. VZ Commodores could be ordered with Turismo Blue, which was a nice change in a sea of metallics:

That would be nice to see drive by or in a lot, but having that on something that is a daily driver would get old pretty quickly.

Maybe a weekend car, but definately not a daily driver which most the GTOs here were.
