<$50k, what do you get?

MrH

You want to stay under $50k.  Say you're a single, 23 year old, and practically isn't much concern.   :lol:

What would you get?  Newness and warranty are a big benefit, so is keeping it to one car instead of 2 (but 2 is technically do-able).  Just curious what everyone's thoughts are on this price range.

The Accordian is just too good a vehicle to leave the Honda fold, plus it has AWD, good room, great performance, and rock star reliabilty. Throw on a ski rack and hitch bike rack and it fits my life perfectly.

Rupert

As always, I would buy a few cars with that kind of money.

Something good on gas and comfortable and cute;

Mazda 2 or Fiat 500. Maybe even the forthcoming Suzuki Swift.

Something fun to drive and fast;

Corvette?

CJ

I think I'd have a Genesis R-Spec, or whatever it's called.

MrH

Guys, think fun and impractical!

Not something cute, an Accord, and a luxobarge :lol:

Well, I'm in a period of my life where I need something practical...so I chose the Genesis R-Spec. 429 HP!

For that money I think it's hard to top the Corvette. 360Z is nice, but I'd rather have a Vet.

If you wanna be stupid,

Used CL500.

There was an Asian guy getting one inspected when I was getting the Focus titled. It was glorious, had AMG wheels, too.

MrH

A used CL500 is neither fun or impractical.  You failed again!

Bullshit. You're in the only period of your life when you don't need something practical.

Finish my El Camino with a 572 big block or LS9, Tremec 6 speed, full Detroit Speed suspension or AirRide, custom interior, and paintjob. And maybe a wood bed.

Yea I couldn't just do one, or one for the whole budget. That's a good $900/mo for the next 5 years, or less but w/money I could have used eslewhere. I need my monie Frankie

Plus theres so much else to consider. Gas, insurance, maintenance.

Off the top of my head though, if all that shit was not a concern,

Cayman S
E90 M3
E46 M3 + toys
G35 Coupe + Rev Up engine
370Z
NSX
996 Targa

Even allowing for an Australian $50k, the possibilities are endless. The aforementioned Boxster S, an Elise, NSX, Corvette, CLK55, or any number of fabulous older cars. Newness and warranty is boring.

I'd get a new Jeep Wrangler and a '66 Mustang.
